Great work by Peter at TV 2, continuing to underline the Danish military have arguably lied not once, but twice. It shouldn't take a passenger plane being hit for someone to understand drones are not highly illuminated.

Good work Peter, keep it up, I've made the argument here in the UK while battling FOI Tribunal (court) cases that we've arguably reached a tipping point where drone countermeasures in civilian airspace can pose as much or more threat than drones themselves.

Oh dear, we can add the Netherlands to the top of the list of idiotic military that is likely to shoot at civil aviation should there be an incident of drone hysteria. "large" illuminated drones is the typical description of a misidentified aircraft. www.rtl.nl/nieuws/polit...

I've been working on a AI tool focused on aviation investigation and analysis. I think it's incredibly sick, the coolest thing I've done since GPSJAM, and I use it every day. I'm going to post some examples of how I've used it lately in this thread. This is the collision at LAX yesterday.
Satellite view of an LAX gate area with aircraft outlines overlaid. A red silhouette shows Delta flight DAL7, an A350-900 (N512DN), at the moment of first contact. It's taxiing left to right along taxiway C, and its left wingtip touches the tail of a blue silhouette, Air Canada C-FIVK, parked nose-in at gate 69A. A yellow dot marks first contact at 17:29:18.4Z. Small red dots trace DAL7's path at 29:02Z, 29:09Z, 29:16Z and 29:19Z, and a dashed red outline shows where it came to rest. Below the map are key findings: C-FIVK stopped 15.9 m short of where the same aircraft parked on 9 September, while Air Canada 787s and Hawaiian A330s normally stop within 1 to 2 m of that spot. DAL7 held the taxiway centreline (+0.1 m, against a median of +0.4 m across 198 A350 passes) and moved 3.5 m right in the last 15 m before stopping. First contact is estimated at 17:29:18.4Z, with a 95% interval of 17:29:17.1Z to 17:29:19.8Z.

A Russian fighter pilot flying at night reportedly shot down a fellow Russian crew in a helicopter 🚁 mistaken for a drone. We can't laugh in the West as we keep making the same identification mistake, it just hasn't been fatal,YET! migflug.com/afterburner/...

Danish TV 2 are checking the data, but it's looking possible the trigger happy gun-toting Danish Army may have shot at an Atlas Air passenger plane as well last year. I imagine this is likely a 747?

I'd suggest TV 2 borrow a consumer drone and repeat this test: bsky.app/profile/uavh...

A drone is not showing up as bright red, green, white lights miles away, here's what a drone really looks/sounds like at night, close up!

UAV Hive @uavhive.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
As Ukraine shows every day, Leipzig showed, CISA has said for years, malicious drones are not lit up. You cannot determine the distance of a light at night against the sky. This is a drone LED left, small aircraft right, your phone light is likely brighter than many drones.

UAV Hive @uavhive.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
If you were an army seeing drones AKA lights in the sky every night, you're completely incompetent not to get counter-drone detection deployed. I've seen nothing published yet addressing the fact the soldiers' own descriptions match the aircraft and the army addressing that. #Denmark

UAV Hive @uavhive.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
And finally the big steaming pile of bull💩, drones are not lit up to be seen at distance so the idea there were drones and an aircraft means we're back to arse covering lies. Oh well, I can't say I'm surprised.

If they give you video of a supposed drone ask that it is the original with meta data and location and time.

UAV Hive @uavhive.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
Having been caught lying once my confidence is low that the truth will be told this time. The soldiers' own description matches a propellor powered passenger plane. I hope I'm proven wrong.

Denmark’s military will tonight unveil a revised account of the 2025 Borris drone incident, where soldiers may have fired at a passenger jet. The rewrite follows our reporting, which exposed flaws in the timeline of the military’s original self-clearing report. Content of new report is unknown atm.

As a reminder, a journalist managed to acquire the description of what the soldiers shot at, it is an exact match for the plane, red/green/white is the ICAO lighting for an aircraft and it was propellor powered.

Well it past 7pm in Denmark, so it appears the Danish have missed another deadline to come clean about the suspected shooting at a passenger plane mistaken for a drone. They're now heading towards missing as many deadlines as the number of magazines they emptied into the sky!

As a reminder the misuse of laws to stop the BBC/Sky News heli flying for an entire week near Fairford looks like the overzealous misuse of power it was now.
011
UAV Hive @uavhive.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
This was a point I've tried to make to journalists in the past, it's fallen on deaf ears, the Restricted Area (Temporary) RA(T) used by police drone teams can be used specifically to curtail media coverage, that's what has happened here. So the Sky & BBC lost their helicopter footage...

UAV Hive @uavhive.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
Oh FFS, the BBC in full on science fiction hysteria, now trying to make out the AI world is commonly talking about people at home making their own WMDs and delivering those by drones. It's not easy to go down to B&Q & buy a bomb for a drone! #Fairford

I didn't get a reply from Luxembourg Police, however their language has changed, saying something I often say, you generally hear a drone first at night so the police are now asking people not to report lights in the sky UNLESS they can hear it's a drone.

It's a shame RTL in Luxembourg is going for clickbait, drones are NOT brightly lit up, especially notorious ones as Leipzig proved. Journalists running aircraft videos as drones are going to contribute to a civilian aircraft getting shot down one day.

The video head is additional kit and being 360° is pretty cool, then again a drone can fly low, or in poor visibility where I suspect it could get to a target in many cases without being seen until late. The piece didn't make clear how dangerous effectors could be.
