Funnily enough, Sora remembers an event that happened AT Hollow Bastion. Though I am not opposed to teasing Donald, oh no. #RE:CoM

Forgetting the battle at "Hollow Bastion" is the first hint that *something* is amiss here... #RE:CoM

I really like these Sora closeups. This image, in particular — I might've used it as a forum profile pic had I known of its existence back in the day... #RE:CoM

I'm not used to hearing these scenes fully voiced. First time I heard Axel (voiced by Quinton Flynn, same actor as Metal Gear's Raiden) was in KH2, and his demeanor was no different then. Knowing that he wants to see Roxas again, what does he gain by playing along with Marluxia's plan...? #RE:CoM

I knew Axel was in this game, but I forgot I'd meet him this soon. This is only the second floor of Castle Oblivion... and I get to fight him, too! #RE:CoM

Put another of my long form pieces through ElevenReader to listen to as I work. This section of ‘Masquerade,’ I… I teared up. It’s as if a flurry of emotions hit me, not dissimilar to what I felt when I wrote the passage months ago.

... I'm just as lost as you are, buddy. I know the end game — but the way there is this twisted, convoluted web of nonsensical stuff that requires a higher suspension of disbelief than any other video game story, I think. #RE:CoM

I remember seeing this cutscene unvoiced at a much lower quality. It's when we first fell in love with the Organization XIII cloaks in the west if not the KH2 previews. Funnily, it was Marluxia, the main villain of this game, the one who lured Sora to Castle Oblivion... #RE:CoM

I ignored #RE:CoM on the PS3 KH 1.5. Today, 18 years since its initial release, I’ll right (?) that wrong today with the PC version. A couple of things: I’m playing it on Beginner with an EXP booster. This game will give me an excuse to drop it and I want to endure, to see it through.

I’ve played the Sora route of CoM in GBA, and I believe I beat it. Didn’t got far on the Riku route — playing through the exact game again with a different character wasn’t something I wanted to do. I bought #RE:CoM when it was new and if it saw my PS2 drive 5 times, it was too many. Never beat it

When I was looking for screenshots for 'Seen', I checked out the Itachi/Kisame infiltration episodes. In this scene, the two men having tea & dango didn't jump at me during the first watch, but the later reveal of Itachi *loving* it, it's delightful.

And thanks to Sasuke, Shikadai is back on the shortlist. Naruto thought the advisor’s son misread Boruto’s abilities during their fight, which has consequences in battle. Surely Shikamaru didn’t expect this — he only thought fair to factor in the events after the exams in their decision. #BORUTO

From a story telling perspective, I think this scene surfaces an interesting tension, but not between the parties you might think. Sasuke isn’t called the ‘shadow hokage’ for nothing — we know he’s the only one who can stand besides Naruto in sheer strength. Yet the man is perceptive. #BORUTO

It's widescreen out of the box, and there's mod support! I'm playing with an unlocked camera, a texture package, including some HD icons, the Banjo Tooie jiggy collecting animation and, perhaps more useful, an "Exit to Lair" prompt in the start screen. Does exactly what it says on the tin.

Recently, I watched a long-play of Banjo Kazooie, and it gave me this itch to replay it. Believe I first heard of the Banjo Recompiled project from Dimitris of Modern Vintage Gamer, and how it was pretty robust so I checked it out... and I'm genuinely impressed.

…is Gruber huffing paint? Did the tech people got brain worms all at once or something? I’m not linking the piece or quoting his post to dunk on it — that’s X behavior. It’s already upsetting to read this gaslighting attempt and I wouldn’t put my followers through such rubbish.

The culture on X today is remarkably friendly and inclusive. It is a cheerful place. That cheerfulness is another differentiator. If you believe the world is falling apart and doomed only to get worse, that our obvious and real problems cannot be surmounted, X is not the platform for you. If you think the world is full of fun and amazing people and things, that humanity's defining feature is our collective ability to solve any problem, that the only time better to be alive than today is tomorrow, it might be.

... lovely. It was working when I last tried... Troubleshooting the issue ruled out all common causes: the GPU went bad. In storage. Unused for years. I know I can play Arena on Series consoles, whereas P4AU... I'll have to seek an emulator.

I wish Pinterest users were better about sourcing where do they get their images. Take this image of, who the site says, is Sasuke about to put someone’s fingers in his mouth, or even his own. This *has* to be from a doujin, but which one? None of my go-to reverse image search sites are helping.

I keep seeing this image around as of late. Honestly, I'm a bit confused by it. Who is this actually making fun of: the people oversimplifying things, or the opposite? The language of the internet is meme-based, and humor the most effective tool to convey a message. I can see this co-opted.

New phone wallpaper. Took an illustration of Itachi I found some time ago on Pixiv and made it look like he’s coming back from work, tired as hell. Or at least that was the idea. Spent a good hour on it, I couldn’t get the mood quite right in the early stages. The original picture is on the right.

I’m so taken by that Soriku illustration on the right 🥹 Given how my tastes lean more erotic, that a tender display of love like this makes me giddy is rare. Gotta find more by that artist if I can remember where was it that I grabbed it from…

"Another Side, Another Story (Deep Dive)" was catnip for many of us back in the day. The so-called secret video spread like wildfire in early aughts' internet — FM wasn't for sale in the West. We were edgy teenagers: we thought black cloaks were cool. #KH1

That sepia tinted cutscene harking back to the islanders' past, and one new to Final Mix, drives home how the group was broken by events that are bigger than three kids. While you could argue it was Riku's fault, I'd rather keep an open mind as I freshen up on the stories again. #KH1

Another scene new to Final Mix: Riku's plunged deep into the darkness after Ansem completely took over his body. Regretful but determined, Riku wishes to see Sora & Kairi one more time. Then, a voice calls out to him. Mickey. The despairing teenager has a reason to fight once more. #KH1
