Ironically, on the coffee interview drama, when we interview for barista jobs we offer them a free coffee drink and I always saw it as a red flag to decline it. It's the one interview it's actually worse to *not* have a coffee.

As far as I can understand "Chicagoland" is a nickname for "Chicago Metropolitan" or "Greater Chicago", which itself would naturally preceed "area". But growing up there, I've never thought twice about it and you are breaking my brain a bit for sure.

Specific to YouTube: on "for kids" videos, when you swipe the video down to close it, a bar pops up on the bottom saying background play won't work on kids videos. That pushes the X button up, so you accidentally tap the banner that takes you to a different page explaining the bg play thing.

Pebble Time Steel OG lasted almost 10 years of nearly everyday wear for me (minus one pillow battery and replacement). Obviously not something that can be guaranteed but was very happy how it ended up holding up.

Like it or not, these are the drinks that keep a coffee shop open. There was a noteable influx in the 2010s of shops that literally just had espresso and cappuccino and they're all gone now.

Coffee shop profit margins are not particularly high. Rising price of green beans, labor, rent play into cost. Some places definitely order cheap beans, underpay and undertrain employees, but when you break down a good specialty coffee, it just ends up being that expensive.
