"Alas! Poor pie. Cut off in its prime."

So what's up with people on Tumblr asking me "Can I talk to you? I've got something important to say" or something similar, usually claiming they can't send me a private message? It's happened three times this week. And whenever I answer, they stop talking to me. What was the point?

Disney isn't making the Mickey cartoons we want to see, so we're (sorta) making our own. www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoJk... #mickeymouse #disney #publicdomain

I basically stopped drawing on paper because I kept smudging the pencil lines all over, and cleaning the scan in Photoshop was tedious and frustrating (and often took longer than the actual drawing did)

How does La Croix make their seltzer taste so good? It's almost as good as soda.

Can you remember when you first learned about that trope? Not at all! You just know, buried deep in your subconscious from something that you saw when you were four years old or something.

Like, you can just know a barbarian is supposed to wear furs and a loincloth and carry a big sword before you ever even read a single Conan story.

One of the stranger cultural phenomenons is when you recognize a story trope common in fiction but you have no direct experience with it, and can't name any specific examples.

I also remember there was a semi-abandoned theme park not far from the museum that had a nearly full-sized pyramid and a sphinx. I never went there because it was always closed and empty for some reason. It's apparently gone now.

That museum often had really cool limited-time exhibits when I was a kid. I don't remember any other specific ones, but they were pretty much guaranteed to have big round plastic buttons with lights that did neat stuff when you pressed them. I love those things.

Remembering a Star Trek-themed exhibit at the San Bernadino County Museum. They had special-effect screens that made it look like you were being beamed down in the transporter, and another screen had interactive sparkly things that reacted when you waved your arms, as if you were touching them.

Convinced that the minute someone called their black cat "the void" the popularity of black cats went way up It's kinda perfect because it sorta acknowledges their spooky reputation but makes it seem totally absurd and approachable

Frankly I'd be happier if they cast Brian Hull in the role

They have the coders and programmers. They can code the AI to behave themselves.

If AI companies want more regulations on AI, why don't they enforce it on themselves? If they want more rules and restrictions, and to keep AI from doing bad stuff, why don't they... y'know... code the AI to not do them? Why do they need someone else to do it?

I've been reading the Conan the Barbarian stories after a long time, and I've frustrated by the ones I've read so far. It's like 80% of the story is just the characters talking about stuff that happened or is happening offstage somewhere.
