7/7🧵 And finally the Lionchief Mikados Really like the road names, particularly the green 4501 and New Haven 3025. Hope we'll get a Susquehanna 142 and M-K-T road name soon. I give the new catalog a 5/10 Good but really needs even better stuff, mainly preserved and more obscure road names.

6/7🧵 The Atlantics are ok I very mixed options on them due to the basis Lionel picked, especially for the Rock Island. But the Union Pacific looks nice and the Chicago & Northwestern 395 is my favorite because the real 395 pulled a fantrip with one of their Pacifics in the 1950s.

The main powered F-3 will now be in the transition era scheme from the Katy as the preserved 203-C. However, it'll be in the late 1950s pre Deramus era version with silver/grey bands with the M-K-T herald on the sides. This is due to the heat wearing out the side lettering from what I've learned.

As if the bulb on one of 382's marker lights snapping wasn't bad enough now I lost one of them. FFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK. Meaning once I disassemble 382, it will run with blind marker lights like on the Hallmark brass H-3a Pacifics. A heavy price for moving the marker lights up and finishing this.

When a LEGACY F unit set is more expensive than two giant VISION LINE steam locomotive sets, THAT IS A PROBLEM. How has Lionel not once thought about lowering the prices because if this is their current mo, they are doomed in the long run. If high prices killed American Flyer, Lionchief is next.

They made some nice stuff in the 2000s and 2010s to be fair. Only problem was the prices, and some things are especially hard to find second hand. Everything after 2020 is where things got bad for modern Lionel, THAT was when prices got horrifyingly brutal. I saw a new santa fe set going for $5k😨

Everything modern that's good Literally anything second hand, especially their 2000s to 2010s O-3 and O-36 rolling stock. They used to make some RAD rolling stock, here's some of my favorites! Now, all their new O-31 and O-36 cars are so expensive a single one will bankrupt you💀
