Today’s work tunes: The Boo Radleys - Every Heaven EP. Hard to beat the Boos in their #shoegaze era.

Today’s tunes: Close Lobsters - Foxheads Stalk This Land. One of the most significant albums in my life. Anyone know what they originally wanted to call this album? #c86 #indiepop #janglepop #Vinyl #VinylCollection #VinylCommunity #VinylRecords #VinylCollector #NowSpinning #OnMyTurntable #33rpm

Today’s tunes: Kingmaker - Unreleased soundboard recordings sent by Loz. It’s a not so humble brag to be the recipient of these. Band has always been a powerhouse live, judging by these tracks. I’ve only seen them twice - 30 years between gigs.

Had to take a photo that included the slab. Day-glo green. So cool.

Today’s work tunes: Sugarcubes - Life’s Too Good. One of those records that’s followed me from teen years into adulthood. Motorcrash worked its way into my head last night. Obvious choice. #Vinyl #VinylCollection #VinylRecords #NowSpinning

I feel the same way. It was the first album I’d ever heard from them (1994) so that might have something to do with it.

Was going through some items and found a cigar box with some old promo items from when I was a resident at Lipgloss. Here are some cheap #blur iron on patches to promote Think Tank. Anyone ever try to apply these? #Britpop #BritpopRevival #BritpopClassics #90sBritpop #BritishMusic

Saw them at @shiiineon.bsky.social in 2023 and they were amazing. Now I get to be on a bill with them. Fucking epic. @stereomcs.bsky.social

That he will instruct me doesn’t help my know what I’d be accomplishing. Also those 2 lines are the only ones I know from the song.

For the past 2 days I’ve had the chorus of “Turn your love around” stuck in my head. The worst part is - I don’t understand what that phrase is supposed to mean. And no, I won’t just go read the lyrics and answer it for myself.

I was one of the 34k people in Denver who made this Bernie’s (and AOC’s) largest rally ever. Amazing energy. We need to keep generating it.

Kitchens of Distinction - Strange Free World. I remember that when I really, really listened to these guys for the first time I was blown away by the creativity in their instrumentation while still maintaining a pop sensibility. #Vinyl #VinylCollection #VinylCommunity #VinylRecords #VinylCollector

Thinking about how it’s kinda lonely over here vs. my old primary platform of Facebook. While that sucks, outside of promoting my nights I can’t imagine going back. Billionaires are actively working against us and I can’t passively support that.

Laying on the couch on a snowy Saturday trying to finally kick this sick I got from the ocean blue show. Covered in dogs, the Mrs. Spotify mix is playing Kitchens of Distinction, Ultra Vivid Scene and Piroshka. Not a bad Saturday.

Also includes my least favorite TOB song “The Northern Jetstream” (which would probably be great without the vocals). Always forget about that since the other tracks are so strong.

The Ocean Blue - Waterworks. Saw them Fri. and said “if they have waterworks on #vinyl, I’m buying it.” Lo and behold. Went home w/ buyers remorse. Played it and that disappeared. Amazing EP expanded to LP for vinyl. #indiepop #VinylCollection #VinylCommunity #VinylRecords #VinylCollecto
