Remember, fighting the good fight is exhausting. Take tips from marginalised folks who’ve been doing it all along. Breaks need to happen to prevent burnout. Pacing is important. Community is important. Community means sharing the load so you DO get rests. Don’t feel bad for resting & finding joy.

Hey! I can now share my comic from the 2023 World Trigger Fanzine: Trigger Off Family Found Writer: Daniel Mauleon Artist: -fei #worldtrigger #comics #fancomic

Panel 1. CAT lays atop IZUHO's head, which is mostly cut off. CAT has her traditional expression.
IZUHO, (off):
First free day in a week and Chikako is on patrol duty.

Panel 2. Medium shot of IZUHO with CAT still on top of her. Their walking down a commercial street in Mikado City.
IZUHO:
Guess it’s just me and you cat. Whaddya want to-

Panel 3. Bleed. They come to a stop in front of a large pet store window. Because of the window glare, we can't make out what is inside.
SIGN:
PET STORE
IZUHO:
Oooh. This place is new...
CREDITS BOX:
Family, Found
Writer: Daniel Mauleón
Artist: -fei

Panel 4. Inset in previous. Through cage lines we see two mice, one larger than the other.
IZUHO, (off):
Ech, rats

Panel 5. Inset. Through cage lines we see a bird, preening itself on a stand.
IZUHO, (off):
Oh you're pretty

Panel 6. Through cage lines we see threes cats, which look identical to CAT. They stare at the reader.
IZUHO:
Would ya' look at that. These cats look the same as you.

Panel 7. Close up of IZUHO and CAT. IZUHO looks up at CAT, who is staring forward.
IZUHO:
Did you have any brothers or sisters, cat?

PAGE 2
Panel 1. Close up of IZUHO and CAT. CAT is leaning forward, she has extended on paw to touch the window. She stares inside.
IZUHO:
Cat?

Panel 2. EXTREME close-up of CAT. Her emotions an enigma.

Panel 3. Close up of IZUHO's head as CAT stands up on all for feet..
SFX:
STP

Panel 4. Action panel. In the background IZUHO stretches out a hand and shouts in concern. In the foreground, breaking out of the panel CAT sprints towards the right/reader, past multiple storefronts.
IZUHO:
Wait! Where are you going!
IZUHO, (cont):
CAT!
SFX:
tp tp tp tp tp tp

Panel 5. A top down, strategy map of Mikado City, not unlike what we see during rank wars. A dotted line traces the path of IZUHO and CAT who appear in the =3= chibi form.

Panel 1. CAT sits looking at something to the left of the reader. An empty street is behind her.
IZUHO, (off):
HUFF--There you are!

Panel 2. IZUHO leans over CAT. IZUHO's bent over, arms on her legs, breathing heavily. CAT continues to look forward. We see more of the street, we're somewhere residential.
IZUHO:
Whaddya' think you're doing -- HUFF-- running around like that.
IZUHO, (small, outside of a bubble):
Really shoulda’ used my trion body

Panel 3. We flip behind CAT and IZUHO to see where CAT has stopped. They stand in front of a housing complex. (Reference, Chapter 49, page 16, where IZUHO is first holding CAT). There's a small flower garden to the left which we couldn't see in the original art.
IZUHO:
Wait. I recognize this place...
IZUHO:
This is where I found you during the invasion. Is this your home?

Panel 4. IZUHO points off panel while looking down.
IZUHO:
Hop up and we'll take a look around.

Panel 5. Over IZUHO's shoulder, we see CAT looking up at her.

Panel 6. Same shot. CAT turns away, towards the house.
SFX:
LEAVES-

Panel 7. Extreme close up of IZUHO, concerned/distressed.
IZUHO:
Is this... goodbye?

Panel 1. Close-up IZUHO tilts her head in confusion.
IZUHO:
Ehhh?
SFX, off:
scrf scrf scrf

Panel 2. IZUHO in the background watches as CAT is digging in a flowerbed in the foreground.
IZUHO:
Now what are you doing?
SFX:
scrf scrf

Panel 3. Close up as cat has turned around. In her mouth is a mouse, covered mostly by a giant black censorbar (or maybe a mosaic blur). A tail, and maybe ear or two, poke out past the box.
IZUHO, (off):
BLEH! Is that a mouse?

Panel 4. Flashback (black gutters, shaded image). Back at the pet store. CAT's paw sits on the window. Behind the window, and through a cage, are the two mice. Only now the bigger one looks terrified and is holding the smaller one close, so it can’t see Cat. We can see CAT's giant eyes in the reflection of the window.
IZUHO, (off):
So back then, you weren't looking at the cats...

Panel 5. IZUHO staring adoringly at CAT. A hearth floats above IZUHO. CAT looks up at her, mouse still in mouth.
IZUHO:
...you we're thinking about your leftovers.

Panel 6. Close-up of CAT's lower half as she jumps up...
SFX:
BOING

Panel 7. IZUHO arms are outstretched having just grabbed CAT. IZUHO looks away disgusted. CAT looks at the reader, censored mouse still in her mouth.
SFX, near hands:
snag
IZUHO:
Nuh uh! No rides until your finish your meal

It is natural to know despair in dark times, to feel dread and uncertainty. But do not immerse yourself in doom. Seek out joy and light, wherever you can find it, to keep despair from being the only feeling you have space for.
