I buy everything generic. Stock up on basic canned foods that are shelf stable. Rice, beans, frozen stuff. Need clothes? Thrift stores. Need books/movies? Library. For the holidays, we thrift our stuff to get store credit to get for each other. Start that in June. Basic living. Surviving.
