Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 6hActually, to be fair I've seen some dog shit this last 50 years or so, I deserve matches like this. Now they're all pushing and shoving, but I think he's booked the Eastbourne goalkeeper. Two outfield players in goal might be too much for my poor old heart. 140
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 6hI love you non league football. Where else could you get this sort of entertainment for a tenner in 2026? 160
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 6hOh Christ, he's got an outfield player taking goal kicks, like this is an under 14s game where some of them can kick the ball properly but the goalkeeper might not 240
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 6hI have so much to say about this, but suffice to say that they put their BIGGEST BLOKE in goal. We've now been playing 20 minutes and they've just subbed him and put another sub in goal. He started shouting but it's just some real stream of consciousness shit. 130
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 6hPenalty to Eastbourne, red card for the Sittingbourne goalkeeper and an outfield player in goal inside two minutes here. (He did not save the penalty.) 1140
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 7hThe last of the three that I've done, and it does look lovely, very photogenic 210
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 7hI have accidentally ordered an extremely strong pint of IPA - like, tastes like it should be described as a "barley wine" - and I'm having to chug it to be in place for kick off, so that's helping. 050
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 7hGood to see this retro banger still going in 2026. The builders absolute favourite joke. In 1990 it was usually 50p, so that's inflation for you. 150
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 7hI'm prepared to admit that the bit of Eastbourne I'm in today is quite a lot nicer than every other bit of it I've seen before 250
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 09/10/2026"I think that orang-utan may be hitting on me" strikes me as a sentence that is seldom destined to end well. 050
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 09/10/2026International break's over, lads unexpecteddelirium.substack.com/p/yes-a-thre...unexpecteddelirium.substack.comYes, a Three-week International Break *is* Too LongIt feels counter-intuitive, in a way, to be agreeing with Europe’s biggest football clubs, but even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day. 020
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 09/10/2026I don't get involved in the social media side of it (there's a bit of it which is trying to be like X or Bsky), but its algo does find a decent array of stuff in which I might be interested. 110
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Been on it three and a half years now. It's okay. It's really good as a platform itself - posting is easy, uploading podcasts etc is very easy. I've thought about transferring to another platform because of the issues raised by others, but the risk of losing my existing subs is too great. 120
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 09/10/2026When I worked in legal, we would give out a little cheer when someone issued a defence with FotL stuff included in it, because it absolutely guaranteed that we would win our case. They were always the ones I'd want to go to in person. 200
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Okay, well I'll hold that date. I might need to bend your ear about your home county as it goes. 000
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Which weekend? I see no reason why not if you're thinking of making the journey - I do need to get over there at some point this season (which I haven't so far) 100
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Fucks sake, they weren't showing that on National Rail, only going to Brighton and changing. Ah well, decisions made now. Sussex's oldest club it is. 100
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 09/10/2026For reference - and I ran the numbers on this - a train from Grimsby to London takes three hours and a minute. It's almost impressive, that Southern have more than doubled the amount of time that journey takes. (And as ever with engineering works, they're still charging the same amount.) 110
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 09/10/2026Your UD match this weekend will be Eastbourne Town vs Sittingbourne in the Isthmian League Division One South East, a decision partly borne from the fact that rail replacements make a journey from Worthing to London Victoria take three and a quarter hours this weekend. 230
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 08/10/2026Were trying to be more disciplined! (If it doesn't go on for too long, I can get it topped and tailed before I go to bed) 110

Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 07/10/2026Derby County have had a rum old start to the 2026-27 season, and John Eustace ain't out the shark-infested waters because he's survived *this* international break. unexpecteddelirium.substack.com/p/derby-coun...unexpecteddelirium.substack.comDerby County’s Narrative Arc Has Undergone a Startling Shift in 2026-27Derby County had been following a very distinct narrative arc since their 2022 takeover by David Clowes, but that has come to a juddering halt so far in 2026-27. 121
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 07/10/2026I'll have you know I'm a pretty little flower, and woe betide anyone who disagrees with me on this 160
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 07/10/2026I was really looking forward to opening this and seeing how sophisticated their algorithm was, but more or less the only thing it said was this and, well, YOU SOLD IT TO ME, YOU DIPSHITS 470
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 06/10/2026This was the phone at my mum and dad's house until about 1992 or something (I've still got it somewhere; I had it rewired in the 2000s to make it fit a normal landline). Jim Rockford was hooked up the matrix compared to us, and almost two decades earlier. 230
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 06/10/2026BRB reading about the history of answerphones, which apparently didn't become very common in the USA until the mid-1980s. So, Jim Rockford - Early Adopter. 110
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Whenever I see James Garner playing football, my first reaction is to think, "Jim Rockford was really ahead of his time, having an answerphone in the mid-1970s" 3140
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 06/10/2026I thought about it and then realised that I don't want Alexander Ceferin having access to my browsing history 110

Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 06/10/2026Anyone downloaded the Nations League Official App, as per the advertising hoardings at Wembley? 200

Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 05/10/2026Okay, my review. There are better things that combine dark chocolate with orange. They're just kinda wrong. They look like they should taste like, well, you know, and it takes a second for the brain to get the message. I appreciate the effort, but not for me, Brian *eats entire box anyway* 150
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 05/10/2026I dunno what sort of nonsense is going on here, but I'm nothing if not adventurous 7130
Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 05/10/2026On England's match on Saturday night, which I watched last night and was somewhat surprised to find that no-one had warned me how really odd watching a match played in front of 6,000 squawking kids might be. (I reckon it put the Croatia players off) unexpecteddelirium.substack.com/p/the-monday...unexpecteddelirium.substack.comThe Monday Almanac: England Have a Thoroughly Strange Saturday Night in CroatiaA crowd of 6,000 lent an otherworldly atmosphere to the Nations League match between Croatia and England, but the shrieking of thousands of kids didn’t seem to do the home side much good. 031

Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 05/10/2026This weekend's match featured a club as old as the FA Cup itself hoping to take another step towards reaching the First Round for the first time in 152 years. Ian King @twoht.bsky.social · 04/10/2026Your weekend match is here.
