i am also in this category not sure if i intuitively knew i was weird at an early age before I was able to form memories, or if i learned i was weird after years of interacting w/ normies i was one of the few redheads i knew growing up & the only one in my family... so possibly a little of both?

Going to the Metro Central Waste transfer station (the dump) on a day when rapid response came in was one of the most heartbreaking things I have seen. People’s lives: photos, books, clothes, medicines just being tossed into the landfill pile. Just devastating to see.

nobody at the warehouse expressed sympathy or admitted making a mistake - instead, they cranked up the gaslighting and when she started to complain, the dude who 'only works at the warehouse' didn't want to hear any complaints, so he shut the loading bay door in her face 14/

that's the caveat - they don't have to store what they consider garbage. who determines what is disposable & what isn't, is at the discretion of rapid response this woman had a whole bunch of art supplies... and medical supplies... all gone. vanished. it might as well have never existed 13/

i'd seen her camp before it got swept - it had a whole helluva lot more stuff than what was in those 2 bags. rapid said most of it got black-bagged - aka considered "garbage" with no obvious use (i think the black bags also surreptitiously separate valuables to be kept or sold by employees) 12/

people have 30 days to retrieve their stolen property from the warehouse - at least that's what people are told... but it's a goddamn lie i took a woman down to the warehouse to retrieve the stuff rapid stole last Monday - 8 days prior. this is all they gave us: two bags... and nothing else 11/

one thing a veteran in their 60s ought to have, is the wisdom of knowing when to choose a battle - this was not a battle we could win. we had no choice but to return to the old couple's tent empty handed & dejected. shaking his head, he delivered the bad news to his partner, "we lost everything" 9/

it was disappointing, but there really wasn't anything we could do at this point. if you can't prove what was taken because there's no record of it being taken, you can't retrieve it. if you know they took something from you, but they say it isn't there, it might as well have never even existed 8/

Updated Monday, June 15, at 10:27 a.m.

. Bud Clark Commons, 650 N.W. Irving St., Portland E, operated by Transition Projects

ALSO OPEN: These two new sites join dozens of cooling spaces already open , including libraries, community centers,
misting stations, fountains, splash pads and malls. Four Multnomah County Library locations will also once again extend
their open hours, until 8 p.m. tonight, Monday, June 15:

before you go. Remember that some libraries are closed for construction.Always visit multco.us/hot for the latest information in case new locations are added or cooling centers open on
additional days.

If someone in Portland needs help finding a cool space today or for transportation assistance to a cooling location, they
can dial 2-1-1 today between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m.

From 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday, TriMet won't turn away anyone who is going to a cooling space and who cannot
otherwise pay their fare. Please tell your bus operator that you're heading to or from a cooling space.

PET GRIEF SUPPORT

Our comrade had to make the difficult choice to put Mz Peri cat to sleep to keep her from continuing to suffer from pain and health issues.

The bill for this is $575 and help is needed to be able to cover it. In addition, an extra $225 would be appreciated so that our comrade can take a couple days off from work without having to worry about losing income as bereavement leave does not include pets. Help with chores around the house is also being requested as our comrade grieves this loss.
