Nemophilist settler. Further: Hopepunk public librarian/runner/cyclist who knits. Likely to be emphatic about music, the environment, books, politics, libraries. Unbothered about most else. Habitually contented. She/her. Work does not endorse this mess.

11 yo has discovered we have a device in our house that will just, like, pluck random music and information out of thin air. You can pick what stream, but not what the streams are playing. It’s all a surprise. And there are no monthly fees. Radio, man. Magic.
Child with long hair and a grey hoodie plays with fascination with an old-fashioned radio in a messy old house

This is mix tape cat. Mtc is one of my most treasured belongings, obtained from a vintage store in Guelph circa 2002. No one but me ever loved mtc. Except! The handsome man loved mtc as much as me, first visit. It was a good omen. Find someone who loves your weird bits. It’s a good life.
Long piece of driftwood roughly carved and painted to look like an odd cheetah, with slots to hold mix tapes

Nothing to see here. Just me, trying (and failing) to be an adult about this mushroom turgidly rising from my garden.
Mushroom with lovely peach ombré shaft and smooth brown cap. With, obscenely, some white material gathered right at the tip.

The squirrels are hoarding ciabatta. I don’t know what this means.
Hose caddy with a loaf of ciabatta bread stashed on it by squirrels to eat later, I guess?!

Looks tranquil, right? Buncha swans at dawn on a still river. Nice. What’s missing is the muskrat who was previously shit-talking the swans from the shore, and was at this point hauling ‘skrat ass to get away from 6 swans who did indeed want to make something of it. Running season’s back!
Deceptively calm scene of 6 swans gathered at the shore of a calm river at sunrise.

The Guardian has no time at all for this round, and I am here for it.
Guardian headline and subheadline reading "Elon Musk appears with Trump and tries to claim 'Doge' team is Transparent

"Key presidential ally, whose agency has operated in secrecy, also makes claim - without evidence - of fraud at USAid"

I missed the cat reskeeting, but anyway, here’s my little asshole. I love her, obviously. I make the exact same face when told to come inside out of the sunshine.

So as long as I’m kinda grieving my family going off the deep end, I might as well make things as cozy as possible. Right?

Time for the daily what the fuck/why not, I guess. The thing about having air full of suspended particulate matter is, it gives the raindrops something to form around, and makes rainstorms heavier. So smoke summers are also rain summers.
