Judging ourselves for our neurodivergent struggles is nasty feedback loop that destroys self-esteem. Shame actually makes it harder to stay regulated, pay attention, or identify strategies that might help, and then if fail we pile on more shame making it harder again

To me, that's like telling to people who do exercise that a robot that does exercise for you is the future, because now you won't have to deal with the negative aspects of exercising. ...but the effort IS the point. The exercise IS the point. Anyway, I still don't get it and I doubt I ever will...

How can one enjoy the result if one's not part of the process? How is a machine that tries to replicate human skills the "future" of humanity itself? Just so people can pump results quickly like a factory? Without attention to the process, to the craft, to the skill one builds like muscle?

And that to me makes no sense. There is a line between making things easier through tools, and getting rid of the effort entirely. Effort is how we build skills. Effort is how we understand a craft, may it be as grand as a painting or as "small" as writing a response to an email...

Like, I get the idea of trying to make certain things for efficient through tech innovation and whatnot. But at this point, it seems like just the idea of putting effort in, say, writing or drawing or learning a skill is seen as a negative thing AI will supposedly save us from.

In fact, while hitting a cucco repeatedly leads to a bunch of them assaulting you back in most Zelda games, in TP hitting a cucco a lot makes you gain control of the cucco for a few seconds
