I love Digital Foundry but like, people consume WAY too much of their content and it ruins peoples discussion about game graphics, boiling to down to numbers instead of things like artistry and intent.

I'm going to play Lost Odyssey, a game that feels like the real Final Fantasy 13 apparently.

Working for Xbox is a death sentence.

It's worth pointing out that the Water Temple is a real double edged dungeon. On one hand, it makes use of lateral thinking more than any other dungeon and is better for it. On the other, pausing the game every few seconds is a genuine pace killer and worth criticising the dungeon design for.

Perfect price for this Square Enix gem

begging "square enix" fans to play more than just final fantasy/kingdom hearts/dragon quest and go experience their weird backlog of titles. the bravely/mana/saga/nier/valkyrie series all have wacky, fun and interesting games to play.

Twilight Dreamer @twilightdreamer.bsky.social · 25/03/2026

Never been a huge Seiken Densetsu/Mana fan but this game has really hooked me in a way that only a janky JRPG can. Low budget as hell, but so fun to just play and turn the brain off to.

Twilight Dreamer @twilightdreamer.bsky.social · 23/03/2026

You forgot to separate Final Fantasy fans and Final Fantasy 7 fans, I swear half the people who have played Final Fantasy 7 have never touched the games with the actual good romances like 4, 6 and 10. (FF8 is not a good romance story 😭)

Age verification? One time I had to leave my PS2 on for hours while I went to Sunday school because I had no memory card to use and didn't want to lose progress.

Unused Eggman animation from Knuckles' Chaotix. It's not known for sure when this would have appeared, possibly in level six or seven.

"If saving you means losing you, then so be it." Andy Serkis is the highlight of the Expedition 33 cast I think. I LOVED Charlie Cox, Ben Starr and Jennifer English, but Andy knocked it so far out of the park.

The default iPhone 17 Pro portrait mode photos are very depth of field heavy. Perhaps too much? I like how my face turned out but I feel like the background is too soft?

2025 might be the first year since 2012 that I didn't watch a single anime from start to finish.

000

Twilight Dreamer @twilightdreamer.bsky.social · 28/12/2025

I think I will get one, and only one tattoo in my life and for the longest time I thought "yeah the Triforce or the meteor from FF7" Nah. "For those who come after"

Twilight Dreamer @twilightdreamer.bsky.social · 26/12/2025

This year for Christmas was a pretty lonely one. Next year it’s just going to be my mom and me more than likely. I don’t feel the magic as much anymore, maybe I am truly a cynical Scrooge now.

Twilight Dreamer @twilightdreamer.bsky.social · 23/12/2025

Gustave is the modern Aerith and anyone who's played both E33 and FF7 knows what I mean by that, in so so many ways.

000

Twilight Dreamer @twilightdreamer.bsky.social · 21/12/2025

this game was such a joy to complete and I'm so mad that it took me so long to finish. Expedition 33 is a must for any lover of Final Fantasy 1-9, Persona 3 or Dark Souls.

a screenshot from the trailer of the upcoming jojo's bizarre adventure part 7 steel ball run anime. the character sandman, a native american, looks sternly off-camera as the subtitles go "What I need... is the money of the white people."

I genuinely cannot explain in words my thoughts on Silent Hill f, it legitimately is just "a game that exists"

Been using Android on a second phone now for about a month and I genuinely don’t think there’s an IS I despise more in the world than Android other than certain skins of Android itself (OneUI is awful) iOS is just a cleaner and smoother user experience and Google really fucking sucks
