I just wish it worked better with intermittent cell signal and it would be perfect. Having it automatically switch to offline mode when you’re already listening to a downloaded playlist on the subway would be godsend.

I don’t think it’s just a you thing. I tried to make it work for projects but there are a lot of rough edges and major bugs. E.g. the http2 implementation was broken, and gRPC connections wouldn’t emit close or goaway signals for the longest time.

Lol I feel a little dumb. I’ve been telling folks they can message the GolangNYC account here on Bluesky to RSVP or volunteer to speak but had the chat option off 🤦‍♂️

Is it not controlled by a meta tag in the <head> block of your html? So in your markdown it would probably be “og_image = ‘path/to/image’” in the front matter of the post.

Crazy how much muscle mass you can lose when not eating enough and working out for 9 months lol. Feels great to get back in the gym.

I think I’m more relieved I don’t have to juggle doing grocery deliveries for Instacart for pennies between interviews, even if it was a little fun riding my bike around JC/Manhattan.

Been on the job search for the past 8 months on and off, with a brutal gauntlet the past 12 weeks of almost non stop interviews. But finally the search is over 🥳

I think there’s a trend starting with some AI crawlers spoofing the agent and referral source to avoid detection when aggressively scraping sites now.

Mmm something about this commenter screams AI to me… doesn’t actually have any or commit to any repos but comments on a bunch of others about MCP settings for Zed?
A screenshot from the GitHub iOS app that Steven Turturo took while trying to fall asleep at 3:55AM EDT of a response of a potential AI bot commenting on GitHub issues within the Nuxt UI GitHub repository.

theoriginalstove: “@edulml98 great call out! Though I think the settings for Windows/Linux look the same?

Regardless, I’m on macOS and and using "args": “mcp-remote",
"https://ui.nuxt.com/mcp"] worked for me.
I opened a PR to update the docs so others don't have to dig through open issues to correctly configure Zed to use the MCP server or attempt to create their own extension lol”

edulml98: “@theoriginalstove You are right, I have updated the comment with the correct configuration for windows.”

We should have an event or maybe two for October. The goal is to have at least a coffee and code the 3rd Thursday of every month, with exceptions around maybe the holidays (depending on how everyone is feeling). Also trying to think of how we can include virtual attendees so it can atleast be hybrid

Only anecdotal evidence to back up your statement but back in the day, I had to liquidate one of these collections as part of an estate when I ran a gun store. Only 5/112 guns the guy owned were actually fired over the course of 32 years.

From the grubhub csv export, I would say offer amounts with mileage, there’s also payout amounts (transactions to deposit $$ to your bank). It looks like they just give you a raw dump of all transactions on the account, so some cleanup to get it into some double accounting fmt is needed.

Steven Turturo @turturo.dev · 20/08/2025
That’s a great idea. There’s definitely more details to expand on around this thread lol.

I'm doing this all on an e-bike, so it is a little fun. When the streets are empty in JC, I feel like I'm a 10 yo on a BMX bike again, jumping curbs and weaving around potholes. For Instacart - making around $11/hr, grubhub & hungry - $6/hr. It's a lot of work for very little money.
010
Steven Turturo @turturo.dev · 20/08/2025
Earning Reports: Grubhub - provides a CSV export, but the data needs a lot of cleaning. Includes rejected/missed orders and a lot double entries, but has mileage included. HungryPanda - no export Instacart - no export. Uber - Not sure (waitlisted) DoorDash - Not sure

Steven Turturo @turturo.dev · 20/08/2025
Instacart will offer 3 order batches, where 2/3 of the orders will be no/low tip. Batch pay will be 1/2 the estimated mileage (not including the trip back). And you'll routinely see "offers" for 20+ miles for $6 + $0 tip.
110
Steven Turturo @turturo.dev · 20/08/2025
Missing an order (e.g. due to no reception while in a high rise) also counts as a rejected order. At least for NJ in Jersey City where GH has a minimum pay guarantee for "scheduled" blocks, if you miss/reject an order outside of the schedule. That affects your acceptance % and loss of min pay.
200
Steven Turturo @turturo.dev · 20/08/2025
GrubHub will give you a time limit of 5 min less than it actually takes to get to a restaurant. So if it's actually 8 min away, you get 2-3 min to get there. This also affects your score, and what types of offers you're shown.
100
Steven Turturo @turturo.dev · 20/08/2025
Even with the minimum pay in NY, and prop 22 in CA. These companies still classify as 1099 contractors, yet will algorithmically dictate how/when you can work. Reject too many orders due to low pay: Less orders will be shown to you, if any are shown to you they'll be for $2, no tip for 4+ miles.

Steven Turturo @turturo.dev · 20/08/2025
Clearly this is to make it harder for gig workers to see how much exploitation is going on, and how much money they're losing (depreciation, cost of gas, wear & tear on cars/bikes). These companies are also misclassifying their employees as contractors. Here are some of the things I've noticed:

Steven Turturo @turturo.dev · 20/08/2025
So I've been doing deliveries on GrubHub, HungryPanda, and Instacart to make some money so I can pay some bills. I'm somewhat surprised none of these gig work apps actually provide any APIs for their gig workers, or any integrations with ANY accounting software.

Could’ve been deactivated for some account violation, either real or false positive on Upwork’s side. I’ve had my account suspended for no reason or notice at one point then reactivated a day later lol
100
Steven Turturo @turturo.dev · 18/08/2025
Upwork is bad from both ends. I think they just survive through charging freelancers the ability to submit a proposal ($20/mo) + large % fee taken from the freelancer’s pay. It’s also nothing but lowballing clients with crazy expectations.
