Extremely sad and it is so wrong. 😢 What did Grandmother Tree do to deserve that? The answer- Absolutely nothing other than live, provide food and shelter to birds, insects, small mammals etc. Grandmother Tree was innocent. The humans who toppled her over are not.😡

I looked up via Google the estimated population of metro LA is about 12.9 million. The estimated population of metro San Diego is about 2.3 million. Thats about 15 million innocent civilians. In what universe is this morally ok?! GOP was silent about it today. This is just scary and wrong!

If they call themselves Christians, follow the 10 Commandments which contains: Thou Shall Not Kill. Capital punishment violates the 10 Commandments. We are not to judge. God will judge. Severe crimes may get life in prison without parole. Not death penalty used to cut costs instead of life in jail.

There also needs to be a limit how much a med’s price can go up annually for life sustaining meds like insulin, breathing medications, cancer drugs, antivirals & antibiotics. If a pt needs the med or treatment to live, all efforts must be made to assist the patient to afford the med. 2/2

Make that bill require if there is a formulary change, patients must be informed & given 6 months to work with MD’s to find workable alternatives on the insurance formulary. If none work, life sustaining meds are covered at previous rate until social work team & MD can get pt the life saving med.1/2

Eastern box turtles have really vibrant colors. I would love to see some in person. They tend to be in more wooded areas and I don’t live in a rural enough area. Tho, not like I’m out hiking on trails regularly and somehow succeed in being quiet enough not to startle any of the box turtles basking.

You are welcome. The first turtle basking is most likely older than the other one climbing up out of the water. The darkened red on the turtles head looks a lot like the red on my senior male red eared slider’s head. My boy is about 30 years old. They can live ~40 yrs in captivity if well cared for.

As a turtlemom of 3 red eared slider rescues, I can attest they are indeed beautiful and lovable.The red on the side of their heads is vibrant and looks like a brush stroke of red paint...at least until they become a senior aged turtle. When they are older, the red can darken and be less bright.

I can’t fathom how some people think a procedure to clear the after birth tissue thinks it’s abortion. Baby was born. Now mom needs medical help so she can live to take care of the baby. How much approximately do you sprinkle on it? And how often? My boy gets dandelion and romaine which both have calcium in them naturally. I was hoping the cuttlebone would help with his beak growing out. I have never been successful in getting him to bite on it. He eats carrots and romaine stumps.

Thank you. 😊 My big turtle girl is doing the difficult part tho. I can say I’ve noticed she has more energy to swim a lot more in her tank. Before, she was very sluggish. So, stamina is improving slowly for her. Now,as fall is upon us here, shall see how she does with the colder half of the year.

I think my tort is smarter than some of my turtles. But, he just moves slow. Slower than the turtles. Another reason if we could speak tortoise, we could understand what’s going on in the tortoises heads. Guess it will remain a mystery.
