Why the fuck is any state candidate accepting endorsements from the GOP? I don't care how "independent" you are, you took endorsements from the people who want to kill me and my family!

Damn, a couple of my things were too obscure to be listed, got as close as I could with as few blank images as possible.

My 9 games that shaped who I am image, showing a grid of 9 games, 8 of which have cover art images.

The 9 games are:

D/generation
Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri
Pokemon Blue
Whiplash
Army Men II
Galactic Civilizations
Age of Empires II
Sim City 2000
Kobo Deluxe

Hey linux nerds who know more than me on this, I have a problem with this damn motherboard (Gigabyte B650 EAGLE AX) and sleep mode in DE's. Every DE I use, this shit can't wake from sleep if I initiate sleep, but using just swayidle it wakes from sleep no problem. What gives?

Running models locally with an NPU, I am genuninely impressed by performance given I only have 16 gb of ram on this host. It's not crazy fast, but it spits out results faster than I can read so good enough I guess.

No stop, void, everything is working like the manual says it will wtf. This is not how computers are supposed to work. You're supposed to fuck up some gui element and then I go back to CLI for 20 minutes, we decided this in 2001 for all computers.

TurblesCelbor @turblescelbor.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

Void linux continues to impress me with how "correct" it is. This is not a "shit just works" distro, it is a "shit performs as indicated" distro, which apparently I value?

In sad news, my beloved laptop JACKDAW, which has served well for 6 years, at last died. Jackdaw as a clevo host, originally running fedora, and he subsequently was used to test many many linux distros. In replacement I have emu: Sticking with void for now, see how that goes.

A unix-porn style image of an xfce desktop for my new host.

This computer is running void linux.

In addition the semi-transparent fastfetch output, a lovely background image of paint splatters and the XFCE mouse is visible.

We need the malcolmXwayland session. Liberate my PC damn it!

TurblesCelbor @turblescelbor.bsky.social · 03/09/2026

PSA, the current live image of void linux does not have the version of AMDGPU that works with this ryzen 7 AI or whatever. My xfce sessions wouldn't load. Dropped back to bash and did a manual update, everything works. Gui is up now but what an interesting problem to have.

TurblesCelbor @turblescelbor.bsky.social · 03/09/2026

I'm sad ACER isn't on here because 2 things: 1. Your UEFI is no so good on this laptop. 2. In an era of rampocalypse, why ship a laptop with win11 and only 16gb of ram? Basically a non-starter here.

TurblesCelbor @turblescelbor.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

It's the year of XFCE on my laptop.

A screenshot image of XFCE with a nice sepia theme and gruvbox icons.

Mouse is a neon one but nobody's perfect.

The image is of a desktop with the XFCE mouse in the middle of a bunch of hand-drawn plants. Top bar with desktop spaces.

Void update. Host: Jackdaw The problem: Flatpaks no work in SWAY. They work in Xfce. Loving that 60 lines into the code the flatpak throws an error related to Dbus in sway. Jackdaw was using flatpaks in sway on fedora, so this tells me it's probably another service layer gap.

TurblesCelbor @turblescelbor.bsky.social · 28/08/2026

Continuing my journey into the void. I have a gui, a compiler, and bad SSL certificates. Gotta figure out why I can't use xbps-install. I'm 90% sure my locality is wrong.

As I work towards replacing fedora on this laptop with fedora, I am overcome with a desire to install a weird DE. This is my experimental laptop so there's like, 6 on here already.
