Outside a few stand out images, Christopher Nolan’s partnership with cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema has been rather bland (from staging to clarity). The scenes and moments are great but individual shots are, at best, adequate. But I don’t think we’re ready to have that conversation just yet.

In Nolan’s Odyssey, there is a death of a character (who had their own dedicated montage) that absolutely ruined me. But because the movie doesn’t allow moments to breathe, the death is immediately tossed off in literal seconds for an unrelated conversation. It’s an unforgivable mistake by Nolan.

Blue Prince is a 9/10 puzzle game. Creative, engrossing, full of OMG moments. Then you reach Room 46. Afterwards, the cracks begin to show with egregiously slow progression, glitchy UI, meandering side quests, & completely unsatisfying endings with no true answers to the questions it started with.
