As Israel’s offensive reduced whole neighbourhoods to rubble, the records that anchor Palestinians’ claims to homes and land have often vanished with them. Deeds, contracts, bills and permits are lost in the expanse of Gaza’s ruins. This appears to be by intention, not collateral damage.
