Drawing is still the best way of communicating ideas and edits to the AI system, so it's more rewarding than ever. I've drawn more since having ComfyUI than in the 10 years preceding that.

I had a great experience in Feb of telling Claude what road I was taking and when I was setting off, and having it recommend lunch places within 20 mins' detour that I would reach at the right time to have lunch. It gave us 10 recs spread over 50 miles of journey and an import to Google Maps.

Could be related to my IRL building work I suppose: I've spent a lot of time recently climbing ladders where you have to skip a rung, and knee-high platforms that are just slightly too high to take in stride.

My subconscious seems to be obsessed with missing steps. A few times over the last few months I've been in large buildings in dreams (like hotels, department stores) that have staircases with steps missing, leaving one giant step you have to climb up or down. Nobody else in the dream finds it odd.

I stopped wearing my Google T-shirt to the gym after an old guy in the changing room pinned me for 10 minutes while gushing excitedly about how much he loved his Android phone. And I've never even been a Google employee: I got the T-shirt from joining their Pride parade.

Even including employer and employee NICs, and assuming you spend 100% of your take-home on VATable goods, you'd have to be on a salary of £115k to be doing £70k of tax. Maybe less when you buy goods that have their own taxes (like fuel and alcohol), but still, how rich are these immigrants?

This is fair. There's a lot of things that Just Work in an in-person team, and companies who want hybrid or remote working need to invest in finding other ways to make them happen. Juniors learning; aligning ideas of what "the problems" are; feeling like you work with real people.
