Some people assume that having ADHD makes you bad at school, like you inherently aren’t able to do well. In hindsight having ADHD was my super power at school. The new information WAS dopamine. This kind of 2e kid (likely me) rarely gets talked about and I think we should change that.

Teachers should not be calling home for any other reason than academics. Admins forcing teachers to make calls of a sensitive nature are priming that teacher for a year of parent distrust (of them AND the school ) & increased hostility. Make the call & lead.

There’s two sides to the baby wars. One is the ability (infrastructure, child care, leave policy etc) and the second is just plain old desire. Endless impromptu vacations is pretty satisfying to a lot of ppl.
