Yeah, the key word is intent for sure. Shadow of the colossus, note and elden ring do it really well but as said, I think a lot of (especially indie devs) stumble a lot on making massive worlds just for the sake of it

Really nailed the scale. Maybe nature can heal from Skyrim making everyone think every RPG NEEDS a massive world (oops all empty) ((Skyrim was good but I think that kind of scale really gets in the way of making good games and telling good stories))

ggg has aggregated a playerbase where they have to make some league mechanics core, which is great for the players that have a lot of knowledge already, but in *some* ways makes the barrier of entry steeper every time (i don't know if i fully believe this) something something target demographic
