From talking to community members while canvassing and gathering signatures for the initiative, TUA came to the conclusion that the measure text of the initiative was not strong enough to adequately address the crisis at hand.

No signature petitions for the initiative were submitted by TUA to the City of Anaheim City Clerk by the 4 August 2026 deadline. The Anaheim City Council, could, if they desired, place the initiative on the ballot by their own will.
