@erininthemorning.com @transvestigations.bsky.social @transiticsnews.com This is potentially one of the worst court rulings in recent years!

I think we may have underestimated the degree which some conservative judges will go to reach their biased partisan ruling. Ultimately for them it doesn’t matter what was said in the testimony or briefing, they’re just gonna rule in favor of anti trans activists anyway because they want them to win

The fact that they dropped Kaptur is still a pretty big win! To my knowledge, this is the first time an “equality” group has actually listened to criticism, even if only partially, and actually rescinded their endorsement of an anti trans Democrat

Are you sure it was actually an endorsement? Because I just checked Equality PAC’s endorsement list on their website and Marcy Kaptur isn’t on it: lgbtequalitypac.org/endorsements/

Can’t impacted patient’s themselves sue? They shouldn’t have to rely on large organizations to do it?

Someone ought to contact the ACLU, Attorney General, and other NY trans rights groups and ask them to take legal action! Providing care to detrans people but not trans people surely violates state anti discrimination laws!

There is absolutely no reason for any trans person to give Democrats cover to abandon full trans equality on any issue, in any region, in any race, to even the tiniest iota.

Did they file a similar motion in the case regarding the subpoenas against the California hospitals?

I said they should kick them out not that they actually are. But if the entire caucus didn’t actually care though then 200+ Dems would not have voted no on these amendments.

tthatoneguyy.bsky.social @tthatoneguyy.bsky.social · 23/07/2026
Then they should just kick out the few that betray the caucus, but there’s no need to completely disband over that since those few are not how most members are

No it was 6 last year for the Tricare ban and 10 for the sports ban. And only 5 this year for both.

It should’ve been noted that this is actually less Dems than last year who voted for these amendments. Last year, 6 Dems voted for the TriCare ban in the NDAA and 10 Dems voted for the sports ban:

Figures shouldn’t be surprising. If you recall, he voted for these exact same amendments in last year’s NDAA too. In fact, way more Dems overall supported these amendments last year than this year:

This is super disappointing! But I suppose one bright side is this is less Dems than last year. Last year’s NDAA contained these two exact same anti trans amendments (plus others) and a whopping 10 Dems voted for the sports ban and 6 voted for the TriCare ban:

In order to sue a clinic in a blue state, transphobic orgs would have to move to that blue state. And even then, they’d still need standing. They couldn’t just sue because they want to. But even if they did have standing, they would be forced to file in the blue state court where they’d be located.

tthatoneguyy.bsky.social @tthatoneguyy.bsky.social · 21/07/2026
No. Moving their HQs to Texas wouldn’t help them since Texas (or any other state) does not have jurisdiction over other states. Only the federal government has jurisdiction over other states and they’re just using Texas as their main venue, but Texas alone doesn’t have that jurisdiction.
220 0
tthatoneguyy.bsky.social @tthatoneguyy.bsky.social · 21/07/2026
They’re only able to do that because of the federal government has the authority to file lawsuits against anyone from whatever state they want. Without the federal government, Republican’s jurisdiction would only extend to their own states.
130 0
tthatoneguyy.bsky.social @tthatoneguyy.bsky.social · 21/07/2026
If republicans don’t control the federal government then anything they could do would be limited to red states since they wouldn’t have any authority over blue states at that point. So that’s no excuse for blue states to stop care at that point.

tthatoneguyy.bsky.social @tthatoneguyy.bsky.social · 21/07/2026
Stopping care under a Dem president in 2028 just due to the possibility that republicans could win 4+ years in the future, when obviously that isn’t even guaranteed and no immediate federal threats exist at that point, would likely just be an excuse to disguise much more anti trans reasons

tthatoneguyy.bsky.social @tthatoneguyy.bsky.social · 21/07/2026
If Dems win in 2028 and clinics still refuse to restart then I don’t think it would be just due to a fear of Republicans at that point. It would also likely be due to actual bias against trans people. Four years is a long time in which they could offer care regardless of who wins in 2032.

tthatoneguyy.bsky.social @tthatoneguyy.bsky.social · 21/07/2026
It’s also unfortunately due to all the bans in red states that have been enacted since 2021.

What do you think the chances of that appeal succeeding are? Is the Texas Supreme Court like to allow that one too if it gets there or is that one different enough?

I agree. But it’s still at least a small win that this was defeated at all, especially so soon after the same House Dems passed the forced outing bill. And I’ll take whatever wins we can get at this point, no matter how small.

The two main lessons I've learned from skimming the DNC "autopsy": 1) I now understand why they didn't release it 😂 2) The DNC wasted a lot of money paying someone who is deeply incompetent. Honest question: was this whole thing written by ChatGPT?

Can you please do an article about the panel? I really want to know the finer details like exactly how many people attended, how many attendees opposed the panel, what the reactions from attendees who didn’t seem to have a strong opinion the subject were etc.?
