I'm dying laughing at how the cat has conformed to her flower shaped bed today

A white cat is sleeping curled up in a med that has five fluffy white lobes of a flower petal, the cat has half her face peeking upwards and otherwise has filled the pentagonal space in the center of the bed completely

maybe i'm old fashion but the coolest thing about video games is being taken to new worlds that i hadn't thought up and experiencing something exciting that the artists behind the game want to show me

in today's episode of suffering from insomnia so i watch things to pass the time: the new avatar cartoon is rough. audio is nice, cast is neato, plot pacing kinda whack, animation is oof. you can tell it's what the creators really cared about tho, just were given no budget for it. will watch more.

I had a short but sweet stream in the late evening playing the Belmont's Curse demo. It feels like Dead Cells (gee I wonder why lol) with a Castlevania skin. It could be nice? I want to day one it but it'd mostly be on deck and the deck perf was a lil' rough.

Unfortunately the discords were nuked and the original crew behind ivcs disbanded so unless people downloaded everything on a whim before this all came out that's probably gone forever. This was all when everyone started making their own things but still had agreements to not backstab one another.

There's also the issue that it was a closed source project with the only way to learn how to work with it or make your own was to commission or get 'in" to the crew, so those four held a lot of "power" in a sense. (Also somewhere in that discussion is the admittance that noff was the main creator)

I can only remember discussions from years ago, but they typically went like this. no one would ever really elaborate on what they all did, just that it was a "known" thing that all of the people involved were weird but as mod makers you didn't dig deeper? was also kinda banned due to drama stuff.

There has been a heated rivalry between posing tools since even crimetool and anam era. Don't think there's any hatred behind it but there's always snippy comments and allegations of code theft going on woth every release and their communities love that nonsense so it keeps spreading more and more.

once in a while I wonder what we could have had, modding wise, if the people doing things in that scene weren't all serial killer rapists, sociopathic stalkers, or just plain evil and jealous people who never grew out of high school cliques. splinter everything and create wars between groups..

I don't think the average FFXIV modder contains enough nuance to give a shit about using an LLM for prototyping, but if you make a callout post going "haha look my competitor is vibe coded", people will immediately draw pitchforks and I find it hard to believe you are acting in good faith doing that

I don't really want to get into discussing ethical LLM usage but I think it's quite irresponsible to throw out an accusatory post painting your competitor in a bad light while also doing the exact same thing you're complaining about
