7/ To address these challenges, we present Botender, a system that supports communities in collaboratively designing LLM-powered bots that reflect their specific needs. With Botender, community members can directly propose, iterate on, and deploy custom bot behaviors on their community platform.

9/ In a field study in university classrooms, students used PolicyCraft to co-design course policies on generative AI. Policies created with PolicyCraft: • gained more support • reached greater consensus • helped students better understand each other's perspectives

8/ PolicyCraft also includes LLM-based #AI assistants that users can optionally use when critiquing, revising, or proposing new policies. These AI assistants are designed to help users resolve misalignments between abstract policy proposals vs people’s perspectives on concrete cases.

7/ For example, users can vote on and discuss whether specific cases should be allowed or not, regardless of what current policies say. Based on consensus at the case-level, they can critique and refine current policies or propose new ones to better reflect their collective views.
