The Bureaucrats celebrated their unexpected day off

Ink drawing of a comet in the style of Tove Jansson. Two creatures sit watching as it plummets towards earth. They clink glasses and seem content with their fate.

allow me to surf on odyssey hype to repost an old piece from 2013 Penelope, Queen of Ithaca - 30x40cm ink on claybord

a black and white scratchboard illustration depicting Penelope, queen of Ithaca waiting for Odysseus. She is standing at the edge of a small stone platform, the sea right underneath, like by a ray of light, wrapped in black robes. Behind her, stairs climb back up the hill behind tall pine trees. In the distance, a square palace sits on the top of the hill, with light coming from the windows.

I'm absolutely loving these landscape sketches of yours! It's so exciting to see you work in a different medium too. The different type of strokes you've made capture the textures of the natural world so well, and I love how the marks taper towards the top giving that sense of the light coming down😊

I was inspired by some landscape artists on YouTube to try out my hand at ink illustrations. Very fun! || #myart #illustration #art ||

An ink illustration of a scene of a waterfall enclosed by a circle of rock, scant small trees reach out on the right while an imposing rock wall looms over the left side. Above it all a ring of trees show in the distance, barely inked as the light overtakes them in the background. Center is the waterfall, white cutting through the inked black rock and reflected in a pool. Forefront is a flat rock that makes up the shore of the pool, flecks of leaves dot the rocks nooks in the detail up close.

Angel’s Cradle, acrylic on panel

a rectangular painting of blue landscape with a singular dark tree on slope with a large halo rising directly behind the next hill . the trees leaves extend beyond itself, surrounding the orb.

I’ll be enjoying whatever you have to share, be it a scribble or a detailed piece 🙂‍↕️ but considering how much you’ve been making this month, you 100% deserve a nice rest after art fight is over, ahah

I’m absolutely 𝘪𝘯 𝘭𝘰𝘷𝘦 with this one, the shading, the contrast—and those 𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘦𝘴!!! The way you drew their branches adds such a strong sense of narrative and motion, like something is waiting at the end of the road. I feel so spoiled this month getting to see all your new amazing art on the regular 😌

I 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 what you did with this one — the symmetry and the directional lines on their clothing!! It all really beings the eye to rest on the centre. I’m really enjoying seeing your incorporation of colours in these recent illustrations too!

Looking at the picture of the game, it’s crazy how well the coin thingies you found work so perfectly for it! That’s so exciting ☺️

Thank you 😭😭😭!!! It was so difficult to capture a picture where the image on both plates were properly visible so I decided to prioritise the stars in this pic, ahah

So excited to see more of this!! Such a neat idea to use the ‘coins’ there 😯Will they essentially stand in for the leaves?

First mezzotint plates I've scraped! I'm looking forward to getting them proofed and seeing how much more I should brighten certain areas. Working in a medium where you essentially build an image by scraping in the light has been an interesting reversal, but I'm enjoying the challenge immensely 💫

Everything about this illustration is so charming. I love the way you stylised the creatures dancing at its feet and how the lines of the character’s shoes reflect that too vs how you rendered the rest of the body! The way you drew Whistler looking down too is just so visually pleasing 😌

I hope to share something of it soon! Now I’m mostly stuck at finding a place where I can get some proofs of the plates printed, ahah, but I may share a pic or two of scraping the plates in the meantime 🙂‍↕️

Spent the last 3 weeks learning about and gather materials to do some mezzotints. There's something terrifying but also thrilling about working in this medium, in its difficulty and time-consuming nature. Crossing my fingers that something decent will come out of the first plates I make🤞
