TEE during CPR - ILCOR ALS scoping review: 22 studies, 1,254 patients. Insertion feasible in 80–100%, management altered in 31–48%, but the two (small) RCTs found no difference in ROSC, survival or neurological outcome. Led by @tscquizzato.com doi.org/10.1016/j.re...

Clinicians rarely witness what actually happens in the very first moments of OHCA. What we know is most often reconstructed from the narratives of bystanders or family members who were present at the scene. Read the article on @resuscitation.bsky.social: www.sciencedirect.com/science/art...

Does CPR before donor death affect organ function? We found that organs from donors who received CPR has similar outcomes to organs from donors who didn’t receive CPR. Kidneys/livers after uDCD showed worse outcomes compared to DBD. resuscitationjournal.com/article/S030...

🚨New Online and presented at #ISICEM25 today Decisions to withdraw or withhold life-sustaining therapies in patients with and without acute brain injury: a secondary analysis of cohort studies 🔗 tinyurl.com/4z6w3vv5 #criticalcare @isicem.bsky.social
Figure 2: Cumulative incidence curves for WLST with censoring at 60 days (A) and at 7 days (B) Curves are stratified by diagnosis. Timepoint 0 was considered as day 1 of ICU admission. The curves account for the competing risk of death not preceded by WLST. As shown, WLST occurred earlier in patients with ABI. For the analysis in panel A, the censoring proportion was 69·0%. For the analysis in panel B, the censoring proportion was 81·2%. Patients were censored for live discharge from hospital or transfer to another facility. Analyses were fitted by use of data from the ISMV cohort where a single date for WLST was provided regardless of whether the outcome was a withdrawal or withholding event.
