I should collect feedback on BBG's content warning system. I did something different with it because I feel other events do it wrong. I have the warning up all run with context on WHEN and HOW to expect the problem. I think it's better, but I am one creature.

My friend group grabbed me and threatened (kinky) violence if I didn't stop taking on projects for a bit so I guess that's a thing. They can act on it too! Gives me time to quietly plan what's coming next anyway.

Everyone's like "No one can tell if you're having problems" but we've had 3 major incidents this BBG. I've been awake for all of them and just... fixed them.

Well it happened finally. A datacenter powering my video transit cluster had an incident in the middle of a marathon. We switched to another server and kept on trucking but augh :)

We don't always succeed and I'm not 100% happy with the system because right now we basically flag a run or don't. So a 3hr run with a 60 second "Oof" segment presents a dilemma. But I have plans to handle that Soon.

There's a bug in my marathon tech stack that I thought I'd fixed 3 times now. It's hit the same person two of those three times. In short, Youtube's embed system leaks memory like a sieve and Browsersources are extremely intolerant of high RAM usage. I need to cut our reliance on Youtube yesterday

I wrote an entire new content warning system just for the run that's on right now.

Yeah. My insurance is waiting until the VERY LAST DAY every refill to approve it, and last time I hit the shortage and missed an entire dose and it wrecked my brain :/ I've considered spreading my rotation out to silently build a stock because of this shit.

Mine has 20 people in it and is thriving on a 1GB linode but it's very specific weird people and I do truly feel we caught lightning in a bottle and do not recommend your average gamer community try this.

I had an interesting anecdote about this. I floated moving BBG to a self-hosted thing. One with Discord-like capability. You know why I can't? Everyone that joins BBG is on Discord and reachable anyway because everyone else is there. I can mention someone and know they'll see it like... today.

OP is right about furries having creches of *really* misogynistic cisgay bullshit though. My first decade or so in the fandom was spent surrounded by people who only wanted to interact on any level with gay men. I mostly chalk it up to having adjusted my filter bubble that I don't see them now.

I had my access to meds go unstable right when I'd planned to do a lot of BBG prep work, and instead played 72 hours of racing games because I couldn't cope well. Now that I fixed the meds, I'm scrambling to finish and feel like I failed in smoothly setting all this up. But it's going to get done.

Not only does this come up and delay *every* refill. I started asking to start refills sooner because the PA was taking until I ran out. Then they started giving me HALF refills because they couldn't figure out my refill schedule. So every 2 weeks, one week has been this. For months. I'm cooked.
