Reaper Dragon bust I picked up and started a couple of years ago. Going to try and get him done for the show on Oct. 10th. Using the previous work as a basecoat. So far done with the red scales and the outer rows of rust. Probably done with teeth?

Re-did the green on the armor. Added purple for the deep shadows and punched up the highlights. Of course that doesn't show up worth a damn here. Re-did the basecoat on the wings. Made good progress on the base with Skowt as well.

Had the parts for this concept for... decades. Finally got inspired to work on him. Ogre is the old Skragg the Slaughterer from GW. Not sure where I got the wings. Anyway, finished with the face other than the earrings. So far, so good!

Test base for my Sisters. Black base coat. Red Fleur de lis with Pro Acryl reds, then a Sand Flory wash for the grout. Nice thing about the Flory washes is they cleanup with water. Slop it on, wait a few minutes and then come back with a moist q-tip to clean up.

Test paint scheme on a Dragon Forge Design resin base for my Sisters of Battle. Black stones with a red fleur-de-lis and light brown "grout".

Gotta say with all the new information coming out for 11th edition and new Codices, my desire to pull the handles and eject myself from that whole game system keeps getting stronger. Plenty of other games to play that won't require selling a kidney or downloading apps to get basic (point) info.

Calling Emissary Fabian finished. Need to paint the base edge and add some vegetation but the figure is finished. Fun figure to experiment with some different paints.

Making progress on Emissary Fabian from the old Inquisitor game. Tried out the new Monument 1 step paints on the bigger areas of clothing. Not bad straight. Mixed in some pale yellow to punch up the high points and add texture. Pretty happy so far.

WiP of Quavandus. Old 54mm figure for GWs Inquisitor game. Painting for a friend who's coming to town next week. Been on the shelf of doom for a LONG time. Decided to knock him out. Still loads to do but happy with the progress so far.

Borrowed my friends set of Bear Cavalry paints to try them out. Used for the skin on this and need to go back and do more work.

Used some of the 2nd set of Monument Hobbies 1 step paints on the pants, skirt and shirt. Pretty happy with how they came out. Did the base coats with pure 1 step, then mixed in pale yellow/Grey for highlights.

Base is a resin 40mm from Dragon Forge Designs.

Finished up the Gunslinger Snake from Texas Wargaming I started at the convention last weekend. Part of an upcoming skirmish game they're working on that I was able to play at the Con. Fun figure to paint. I just made up a color scheme.

A friend loaned me their set of Bear Cavalry paints. Haven't done much but so far I like the paint and loathe the packaging. The bottles are tall and slender so will fall over if you sneeze at them. Childproof caps? Really?! The ammo can they ship in is an amusing gimmick but impractical.

Bear Cavalry paints in an alternative storage box so they'll stay up and you can actually see the colors. Not a fan of the bottles or the cutesy color names. So far the paint itself shows promise.

Finished the Gun Grub objective for my Zynvaded demo game in July. These figures are so fun to paint! Only downside to them being 3d printed is they're one piece with the base, so there's spots you can see, but getting a brush in is next to impossible. Ah well. On to Grubzilla!

Mighty Morphin Shotgun Rangers reporting for duty! Ok, got some cleanup to do but close enough! Shotgunners for Zynvaded that I'm painting to use in teaching demos in July. Tried out the new Pro acryl 1 step paints on these. Darker colors definitely give better results.

Finished Commissar Drugov. Didn't pull off the Red Panda scheme as well as I'd hoped but it's much harder on the smaller figure, especially with the hat. Ah well. Still puts a smile on my face!

Finished the 2 Ursus guards for Commissar Drugov from 1st edition Konflict 47. Hopefully he gets re issued at some point! Chinese swore they sent the DNA for their fiercest bears, but the Soviets are starting to wonder. I wonder how these guys get dressed? Claws would make it hell to tie your laces!
