SC and UT have had the highest rates of cases. Below that ND, SD, AX and NM are pretty high. Some states with large populations, but lower rates, are contributing to the overall numbers, namely TX and FL. Just 5 states are responsible for 85% of US cases.

US Measles Tracker as of Mar 28, week 12, 2026. Current case rate seems to be flattening. Although off the recent highs, weekly run rates are still at historically high levels. In 12 weeks, 2026 will be the second-highest level of any year in the last 30 years and will surpass 2025 soon.

5/5 This is clearly impacting the entire Republican brand, as net support for Democrats in Congress is +5.5 and has been consistently moving in favor of the Democrats for a year. www.natesilver.net/p/generic-ba...

4/5 Obviously, the Iran war plays into these numbers. Currently, net support for the war is at -18.1%. But, this has to be impacting economic perceptions, especially inflation. www.natesilver.net/p/iran-war-p...

3/5 Trump is pretty much eating shit on every metric, but it's economic factors that are killing his approval. Approval on Economy and Trade are both dropping like a to new lows every day, and Inflation is completely underwater.

2/5 The Net approval rating is the point difference between the "Approve" score and the "Disapprove" score. Not that it needs saying, but Trump's Disapproval hit a record high, and his Approval hit a record low.

1/5 Another NEW RECORD LOW for Trump's approval ratings, after hitting a new low on 3/18, 3/24, & 3/30. It's all DOWNHILL. Trump's net approval is now at -17.5% in Nate Silver's aggregate of leading US polls. www.natesilver.net/p/trump-appr...

3/5 Looking at the factors that are driving him down, well, everything. But inflation is destroying him. And that's going to get worse before it gets better. That 36-point gap is MASSIVE. And it's only going to get worse.

2/5 The Net approval rating is the point difference between the "Approve" score and the "Disapprove" score. Not that it needs saying, but Trump's Disapproval hit a record high, and his Approval hit a record low. Hard to imagine who's in that 39.9% who thinks he's doing a fine job.

1/5 A new RECORD LOW for Trump's approval ratings, after hitting a new low on 3/18, then again on 3/24. Now again on 3/30. Trump's net approval is now at -17.0% in Nate Silver's aggregate of leading US polls. www.natesilver.net/p/trump-appr...

US Measles Tracker as of Mar 21, week 11, 2026. Current case surge is abating, but weekly run rates are still at historically high levels. 2026 is officially the 2nd-highest year in the last 30 years, just 11 weeks in. It is 69% of 2025's level, which was the highest.

Donald Trump's war with Iran has almost wiped out all of the stock market gains that he was boasting about just a month ago. On Feb 10, 2026, the DJIA had increased 14% since his inauguration on Jan 21, 2025. It's now just up 2.6% since he took office, for an annualized rate of 2.2%.

COVID deaths, through wk ending 11/30/24 & hospitalization & wastewater surveillance through 1/1/25. Deaths flattening out in the last week of Nov. Well probably show uptick on next week's post. Substantially below prior years in 4th quarter.

Daniel @truthinnumbers.bsky.social · 22/01/2025
The flat-line, deep into 4th quarter, continues. Death rate has remained in a VERY narrow range for 27 weeks. 2024 will finish, beyond any doubt, with the lowest overall death rate in US history.

The 2024 drop continues. US age-adjusted, all-cause mortality through week ending 11/30/24 (week 48) Age adjusted rate for week 48, 2024 -9.1% from week 48, 2018 -7.8% from week 48, 2019 Year-to-date, weeks 1-48, 2024 -14.1% from weeks 1-48, 2018 -14.3% from weeks 1-48, 2019

There were more death certificates with influenza as the underlying cause in 2020 than there were in 2019. Maybe you could try to get one fact straight before you start running your big, stupid mouth. wonder.cdc.gov/controller/s...

Why do you even talk about numbers? 300%? You come off as a complete ignoramus. There were 426,321 COVID deaths while Trump was president. As of this week there's been 1,034,353 total covid deaths. wonder.cdc.gov/controller/s...

Incorrect. If other causes of death were falsely attributed to COVID, other causes would have been DOWN. They were UP at record levels. Non-COVID death rate was UP 6% in 2020, which would have been the largest single year increase since 1928.

Interesting to note in wastewater detection popping up on the week ending 12/7, but no change in hospitalization. This is probably a product of wastewater being a leading indicator, and hospitalizations being somewhat lagged behind. Deaths generally lag 2 weeks behind wastewater.
110
Daniel @truthinnumbers.bsky.social · 18/12/2024
We're still seeing the longest sustained decrease in the second half of the year, since the beginning of the pandemic. We've seen 10 weeks of continuous decreases (with one basically flat week) and very likely 5 more weeks, based on hospitalizations and wastewater data.

Daniel @truthinnumbers.bsky.social · 18/12/2024
Interesting to note that in the next 2 to 3 reports, 2024 may drop below the lowest point in 2023 for the second time this year.

COVID deaths, through week ending 11/9/24 & hospitalization rates & wastewater surveillance through 12/7/24. Deaths continue DOWN, -8% from last week's report. -62% over last 10 weeks. Wastewater signaling potential upturn in deaths starting week ending 12/14 or 12/21.

2024 is continuing to show an unprecedented "flat line" deep into the fall, which is solidifying the VERY likely probability that 2024 will have the lowest age-adjusted mortality rate in US history.

US age-adjusted, all-cause mortality through week ending 11/2/24 (week 44) Age adjusted rate for week 44, 2024 -6.3% from week 43, 2018 -5.2% from week 43, 2019 Year-to-date, weeks 1-44, 2024 -14.0% from weeks 1-44, 2018 -11.8 from weeks 1-44, 2019

Yeah, cool story. Where'd you get that 16,000 number? If you know what was going on, who was paying those hospitals $40K per "patient listed with COVID?"
200
Daniel @truthinnumbers.bsky.social · 17/12/2024
None of this post is true. The CDC reported 1,216 deaths, ages 0-17, with COVID as the underlying cause, 2020-2023. There were zero in 2019. There was no payment to hospitals for "listing" a patient as having covid. wonder.cdc.gov/controller/s...

We can see year over year data, using the logarithmic scale. In no prior year do we see decreases of this proportion, and, more importantly, going so late into the 4th quarter. Q4 2024 will have the lowest US COVID deaths of 4th quarter, by a wide margin.
040
Daniel @truthinnumbers.bsky.social · 13/12/2024
In prior years the decreases were lower in duration a proportion. 2021: 10 weeks, -55% 2022: 9 weeks, -40% 2023: 5 weeks, -20% There will be at least 13 weeks in 2024, possibly more, and the decrease will be well over 60%
