I dont think younger people realize just how massively popular and culturally significant the Lord of the Rings books were in the 1970s in the USA. Millenials experienced but a fraction of this when the Peter Jackson trilogy released.

A scene parodying the Neon Genesis Evangelion scene of Asuka and her Eva unit getting pierced by the spear of longinus. In this scene, Linguini and Remy from Pixar's Ratatouille take the place of the EVA unit and Asuka respectively. This is a VERY significant decision, given the impact of the rule change, which was set to upend the student visa process which has been in place for the last half-century. Colleges and universities said the rule would impose millions in costs and cause a big drop in enrollment.
