I create one Word document per chapter rather than have one big document. I only put together the full document at the end, so I have no idea of the word count until I'm done. Each chapter is its own distinct thing.

I want to write a 4th novella-style book (maybe next?) and still do the gaslamp noir prequel, cos I think exploring this world as a normal mortal without god-like powers will be fun and also horrifying. A noir setting would be perfect!

As its spooky season, the scariest thing I've ever written have been the Witheryn domain sections in The Children of Chaos and The End of Time, with the latter arguably more terrifying. Gotta have fun with a god that likes to collect faces 👀

In The Chosen One Con, Max's perception and sense of self is quite warped and only gets worse by the end (for spoiler reasons). But this is something I plan to play around with more in the sequel 👀
