Torvalds is absolutely on point here, esp. at the end. It's the same in my circles as well - the brilliant ones (whom I've known for over 30 years) are also the ones who quickly picked up on LLM assistance. #AI

Screenshot of an email with the following text:

subject: there — a partnership, not a project

Hi there,

I wanted to be transparent about everything upfront.

My name is Ayaka Kobuchi. I lead a 4-person engineering team in Japan with close to 10 years in full-stack development.

Before anything else — I'm not reaching out to hire you or to ask you to take on work. I genuinely mean a partnership: two sides bringing different strengths, sharing the rewards.

Here's the situation. Sweden-based partners command more trust and higher rates than developers in Asia, even with identical skill. We have the talent and the client demand — what we don't have is a presence in Sweden. That's where a partner like you comes in.

The partnership:
- You're our partner and local face in Sweden
- We deliver 100% of the technical work behind the scenes
- We share the profit as equals
- No development effort, no tasks, no managing on your end

You bring the market position, we bring the engineering — and we both earn more than we could alone.

If you're even a little curious, I'd love to explain it properly.

Telegram: hxxps://t.me/xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Best regards,
Ayaka Kobuchi

Dammit. I just referred to myself as a greybeard and that's clearly a lie. bonus: Synchron Assembly t-shirt. The ultimate 68000 crew - for all time.
This is a close-up image showing the side of a person’s head and upper torso. The person has a full, fluffy beard and mustache that are predominantly white with some light brown or gray tones. They are wearing a black t-shirt with white text printed on it. The text is arranged in three lines: the top line reads “PAST PERFECTION,” the middle line is larger and reads “SYNC ASSEMBLY,” and the bottom line reads “THE ULTIMATE 68000” The font style is bold and stylized, with rounded edges and a slight 3D effect. The t-shirt appears to be made of a soft fabric, and there are some small specks of lint or debris visible on its surface. The background is partially visible and includes a blue tiled surface in the upper right corner and some white fabric or clothing in the lower right corner.

An LLM being asked to implement "is string in array" using Bash. The initial code probably works, but is quite convoluted and searches through all items in the array one by one. When prompted if not associative arrays would be a better solution the LLM agrees, comes back with a much shorter code example and points out that this is O(1) vs the previous O(n)

Why thank you for asking, that algorithmic feed fork is coming along nicely. While I added the scores visibly to posts for debugging I'm thinking of keeping them (though prettier) since it's good feedback to users how the slide-settings they control influence the sorting of the feed.
