Started Oblivion last night. My character is a half goblin wood elf named Nurth who is an anxious sneak with terrible IBS. Should be a good time.

After reading a book, the next best thing is to go for a walk. Went for a walk today then did some reading where I walked to. Immediately after, I solved the two problems that had been clogging up a story for months. It’s a good system.

I have two notes posted above my work desk I frequently refer to. The first reads ‘Dare to suck’ and the second says ‘Struggling? Go read a book!’

Pretty sure Ocarina of Time was the first video game I ever made it to the end of. Happy times in that strange little world. Looking forward to overwriting those memories with my kids this winter break. #zelda

I stopped by Target on the way home and bought a plastic bin to replace another broken plastic bin for my cat’s poop trash. I also bought a six pack of oversized art boards for my 1st graders’ macaroni based art project. #whomonitorsthemonitors

Group photo goals. Drawn while reading Number 5 and Inside Moebius. I love this type of composition. Want to do a full book series with lineups like this on every cover. So many things to draw but only one good hand to hold the pencil. Le sigh.

This is a multimedia piece I've been wanting to do for months, character is painted in acrylics on a digital photo manipulation printed background. Also, it's been a while since my monthly experiments had a more playful tone!

Multimedia painting on vertical canvas
Theme: Fantasy / Dark fantasy / Experimental
Character: My OC Lubi, he/him, transmasc
#Artsky #QueerArt #TransArt #DarkFantasy #SwordAndSorcery

This is a mixture of digital and traditional process. First I edited a photo background and added a digital line sketch, which I got printed on imitation canvas, and then finished by painting the character with acrylics. The piece is pretty big - 104 x 139 cm.

The background is a photo of an old wine basement, appearing like a cave with brick walls. I edited it to get a blue and green-yellow palette.

The character is sitting on the floor in the center of the cave, grinning. The nose, mouth and eyes are the only other part of this piece that was done digitally, as I was unsure if I could paint the sharp edges of the design.
He's wearing a hooded cape, which gives the impression of an invisible coat, as its colours reflect the colour of the background in a blurry way. He's wearing a black shirt which extends into a loin cloth with a green, zig-zag edge. The shape of the hood covering his face is a heart. His face is partially shadowed, while red fiery hair is sticking out on the leftside.

He's wearing gauntlets, which are shaded in much more delicate detail than the rest of the character. The metallic shading also extends to the wavy-bladed sword. His boots are red and black, with a somewhat checkered pattern.

Behind him is a wall which is transparent in the middle, having a dreamlike impression. On the wall of the cave which took on the greenish-yellow tint in the photomanipulation process, I painted a torch with a green flame. On the upper left part of the painting is a yellow moon crescent.

Lastly on the top right edge of the painting are a couple of crystals, catching the colours of their surroundings, which makes them almost invisible until you notice them. I really love how these turned out.

My six year old has been working hard on her book ‘The Dark Red Castle.’ and it’s amazing, ngl. She already seems to understand the importance of killing off the protagonist’s father on the first page.

As a parent and an artist, nothing is more rewarding than watching my kids find joy from drawing and their excitement at seeing their own labored progress. It’s the best. Their little dreams realized. Their process; the point. Give me a 3 year old’s sloping stick person over Kojima AI slop any day.
