Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 01/01/2026December was a great month for reading this year. I have high hopes for January - lots of good reasons to sit in with a book 📚☕ 030
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 21/12/2025I (mostly) go to book clubs of my own free will. However, I have hit a bit of a humbug mood and just want to read a book that I pick and bloody enjoy. So I am re-reading Europe in Autumn by Dave Hutchinson. I may re-read all of them, haven't decided yet. 010
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 03/10/2025September's reading round up. It upsets me ever so slightly that it's not symmetrical. The Seishi Yokomizo was two shorter stories. Mick Herron does modern spy-thriller well. Now 'racing' my son on The Lord of the Rings. Sadly for him, I love it with nerdy passion and am now hurtling through it. 071
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 12/09/2025Just finished two interesting days at a public administration conference, which is almost a vacation from work. Sort of. In that, a change is as good as a rest 😂. Now waiting for the other half, tucked up out of the rain, having almost certainly bought a book we already own to pass the time 😬😆 040
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 06/09/2025My August reading round up - pretty good month for books I really enjoyed. I see I haven't rated the Rankin but I always LOVE them. They're one of my comfort books (I know, terrible crimes happen in them - what can I say 🤷) but they're like read in two days every damn time! #books #reading 071
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 06/09/2025I have loved summer but I'm pretty ready for autumn - warm drinks, dark nights, books and comforting food 🧡. 'Manifesting' those vibes today, as fellow kids do, with homemade soup and scones - up since 5.30am because school rugby coaches hate parents 😂 051
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 02/04/2025@translinknisupport.bsky.social What's happening on the 6a route into Belfast? Looks very much like I am going to miss my son's rugby awards dinner...Been waiting for about 30 minutes. 000
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 01/04/2025Round up of March's reading. Top pick is Lost in the Garden, although it was a good month! 020
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 17/03/2025Recently finished The Visitor by Maeve Brennan. In the interests of balance, have moved onto Equal Rites by Terry Pratchett. Partly because I read a policy article drawing parallels between some policymakers and witches, which tickled me. 031
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 15/03/2025February's book round up. Really enjoyed the Janina Ramirez - accessible and enjoyable style. I have Femina somewhere and I'm looking forward to reading it soon(ish) 010
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 06/03/2025Waiting for the Notorious POP at youth club. Lost for a good reading nook so making do with this. Now reading Jorge Luis Borges, The Library of Babel for bookclub. I do not know if it's me but think @staggerlee42.bsky.social probably would like it 111
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 02/02/2025Well, this is new. Wrap up of my books from January, which turned out a little slow - being January, cold, busy and better for hibernation. Top recommendation would be The Great Believers - really great book. 020
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 10/01/2025Last minute effort to manage the book for book club, so just starting this - Vladivostok Circus by Elisa Shua Dusapin #nowreading 010
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 25/12/2024Ready for a bit of a nap 😴 despite an espresso with dessert. I would rather read with a glass of wine though...#nowreading Doctor Sleep by @stephenking.bsky.social - trusting in him on this Christmas day to not let me down and save Dan and Abra 😬 030
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 17/12/2024Nice collage of my year's books...so far. I imagine that I'll add a couple more before the year closes #GoodreadsYearinBooks 010
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 17/12/2024Because I'm not great at keeping up with my reading and recommendations on here, glad to see my #GoodreadsYearinBooks 020
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 18/02/2024Hopefully this will be a bit lighter and less grim. Perfect on the sofa, under a blanket with some tea. Me and the boy are working through the series together - The Missing of Clairdelune by Christelle Dabos (trans. Hildegarde Serle) #nowreading 010
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 14/02/2024This train is hotter than the hotel sauna 🥵 Lashing down in Ballymena - standard, so all must be right with the world. 120
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 14/02/2024Moving swiftly on... Of Cattle and Men by Ana Paula Maia, translated by Zoe Perry #nowreading #mexicoandbelow 000
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 14/02/2024One of my favourite 'little pleasures'. Cup of tea, chocolate snack, a seat facing the direction of travel and on the side with a sea view... Bliss. 010
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 13/02/2024No jaunt would be complete without popping by a bookstore. Today's catch from Little Acorns. 131
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 18/01/2024Flippin heck. They sent Sophie Raworth to Belfast for the news!! Our strike is NEWS. 020
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 29/12/2023Just finished A Winter's Promise by Christelle Dabos. In a light speed-esque two days. Pinched off my son, just the right kind of fantasy read, bit of a mystery /thriller going on #nowreading 011
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 29/12/2023If I have to work (and I really don't want to), I might as well have a decent soundtrack open.spotify.com/playlist/37i...open.spotify.comJazz Classics Blue Note EditionJazz Classics Blue Note Edition · Playlist · 100 songs · 477K likes 000
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 22/12/2023Peak way to end work for Christmas - Ulster v. Connacht with my boy. Who is most excited about Bundee Aki... 010
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 18/12/2023Graduated!! 🎉🎉🎓 Lovely time today with all my classmates and a great ceremony #ProudofUU 460
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 17/12/2023Coffee and cunning cats (he tricked me into following him upstairs and then stole my spot on the sofa😂). Priming myself for a lot of wrapping. 010
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 19/11/2023Still mulling over 2:22 A Ghost Story from yesterday. Will periodically just say something like 'oh, that's why...'. Also, Joe Absolom was solidly the best performance. Really believable and subtle in a role that could become caricature. 120
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 06/11/2023Poor show with reading over last few weeks, thus impeding my spooky reading plans. But reading them anyway. Moved on to this, which is great so far #nowreading 000
Trish @trishisreading.bsky.social · 29/10/2023Next read is Little Eyes by Samanta Schweblin (trans. Megan McDowell). We've read a good few unsettling books through my Mexico and Below bookclub, so seemed likely this would be another seasonal story (creepy) #nowreading #argentina 150
