Post a perfect album from the 90s that isn't nirvana, soundgarden, pearl jam, or alice in chains.

Album cover for Pet Shop Boys "Nightlife." It features a photograph of two men in suits sitting on a subway car with blurred faces & blurred window behind them and the word "Nightlife" in red in the center of the album.

At the Reflecting Pool, and guys, this doesn't look right.

Screen capture from Doctor Who: The Curse of Fenric where two young women are up to their chests in a lake. They have long hair, pale faces, and long fingers that end in claws. (They've become haemovores and want you to "come into the water wiv us!")

My friend Judi is visiting and we're reminiscing about our friend who died a year ago today (Elsa). Judi's looking through my old photo albums and one picture caught my eye. I couldn't DM this photo to him, so I thought I'd post it. Feel free to claim credit for it if you want!

Photo of a picture of me and a friend of mine from circa 2002 at a Doctor Who convention in Baltimore. A young man with a light beard & mustache & glasses beside a slightly older woman (me) with a big smile & glasses with her arm around him.

This is my favorite hot dish. My mom (Linda, who submitted the recipe) makes this usually once a year. (Reposting cuz I forgot Alt text first time)

Chicken Casserole (from Ann Goins)
Cook a whole chicken - save broth - take meat from it and put in a dish.
Mix a small can of evaporated milk and a can of cream if chicken - pour over the chicken.
Wet a package of Pepperidge Farm corn bread stuffing with the broth - not heavily. Pour over the milk and soup.
Bake 20-30 minutes at 350°.

Both of my lovely cats posed for photos today (though Reesie, the fluffy one, wasn't as still as Pippin, the striped one.) #CatsOfBluesky

Photo of a grey striped tabby laying on a blue plaid comforter and looking at the camera. He's leaning against the pillow and mostly his torso & head are showing.

Photo of a very fluffy tortoise hair cat looking up and off to the side. The view of her is such that her head & torso are hiding her body. There's a sunny window behind her which is slightly overexposing the picture.

I finished watching a movie (The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare) to find there were two others in the audience. Reesie (the one in the back) has recently "discovered" this chair & it looks like Pippin will sit in it if he gets to snuggle with big sis. #CatsOfBluesky

Two cats sitting in a plaid cushioned chair. The foreground kitty is a grey and white tabby with orange highlights. He's laying against a fluffy black & orange cat who is laying against the seat back. They are facing opposite directions with the tabby looking to the side with open eyes and the fluffy cat sleepily looking at the camera (or camera flash).

I was at a vigil for Renee Good & others yesterday (it was cold - no idea how the Minnesotans are doing it!)

Photo of myself in black coat & black wool cap holding a sign & standing on the sidewalk in front of my county courthouse. The sign, partly obscured, says "Justice for Renee Nicole Good, Keith Porter," and several other names of people who died at the hands of ICE.

For December, I'm going to try drawing a lesson a day from Begin to Draw People by Christopher Hart. Here is Day 31. #DrawDecember

Pencil sketch of a young man "Taking it Easy". He has short hair & unruly bangs and shaded glasses. He has a long sleeved dark shirt under a short sleeved light shirt and dark slacks. One arm is grabbing the other arm's upper arm. Supposedly in a relaxed manner, but I think the way I drew it, he looks like he's holding a sore arm.

For December, I'm going to try drawing a lesson a day from Begin to Draw People by Christopher Hart. Here is Day 30. #DrawDecember

Pencil sketch of a young woman walking with a "Stylish Walking Pose" (though I admitted to my sis & sis-in-law that it looks more like a "silly walking pose." She has one arm draped around her waist and the other bent with hand behind her back. She has on ankle length pants and a turtleneck sweater.

For December, I'm going to try drawing a lesson a day from Begin to Draw People by Christopher Hart. Here is Day 29. #DrawDecember

Pencil sketch of an "everyday person" (the latest section of the book is "Drawing everyday people") entitled "Where do you want this plant to go?" It is a sketch of a young person with short hair holding onto a huge pot with a spiky plant in it. The person's body is pointing to the side but its face is facing the viewer with the eyes looking opposite to where the plant is. The person has baggy shorts and a v-neck shirt, socks, and gym shoes on.

For December, I'm going to try drawing a lesson a day from Begin to Draw People by Christopher Hart. Here is Day 28. #DrawDecember

Pencil sketch of two "Filled-Out Constructions. The masculine figure is standing to the side and pointing its finger. I captioned it "Now, don't do it again!" The feminine figure has its arms wrapped around its waist and is walking forward (well, that's my interpretation). There is a hint of a skirt and of hair on the feminine figure and its caption is "harrumph!"

For December, I'm going to try drawing a lesson a day from Begin to Draw People by Christopher Hart. Here is Day 27. #DrawDecember

Pencil sketches of two "Filled-Out Constructions." The first is a side-view of a feminine shaped figure with her hand in a pocket and her legs together. I captioned it "listening to a mansplainer." The second is a feminine shaped figure head on with her arms behind her back and with one leg behind the other. I wonder if this figure is meant to be "coquettish?"

For December, I'm going to try drawing a lesson a day from Begin to Draw People by Christopher Hart. Here are Days 25&6. (Forgot to post yesterday's!) #DrawDecember

Pencil sketch or more "Warm-Ups: More Tips." This is three stick figures with rectangular torsos to help with posing. The first figure has its hair in a bun and breasts and has its hands on its hips. I captioned it "What time do you call this?" The second has mid length hair and breasts and has its arms and hands in the air with one foot on tiptoe. I captioned it "Throw your arms in the air like you just don't care!" The final figure has no hair or breasts but does have a tray it is supporting with one arm. I captioned "Your dinner is served..."

Pencil sketch of two "Filled Out Constructions" which are stick figures that now have more width. I left the lines of my sticks showing for now. Figure one has one hand behind its leg and the other up in the air giving thumbs up. The other is standing with both hands behind it. I wrote "My stick figures hope you had a Merry Christmas." And so do I!

Post the same actor in two roles that show their range.

Photo of Peter Davison in costume as the 5th Doctor in Doctor Who. He is standing in front of the TARDIS, has a fawn frock coat (with celery on the lapel) and is holding his foldable straw hat in front of his chest.

For December, I'm going to try drawing a lesson a day from Begin to Draw People by Christopher Hart. Here is Day 24. #DrawDecember

Pencil sketches of 3 stick figures with boxy torsos to act as "warm-ups." The first stick figure is shrugging, so I have it saying "I dunno!" The second figure has one hand in its "pocket" and the other gesticulating like it's talking. I wrote "mansplainer" beside it & have it saying "well, actually!" The third figure doesn't have a rectangular torso but a more curvy shape with boobs. And it has the impression of long hair. It has a bag in one hand and its other hand on its hip and may be walking toward the viewer (not sure I captured that.) I wrote beside the sketch "I have never posed like that in my life!"

For December, I'm going to try drawing a lesson a day from Begin to Draw People by Christopher Hart. Here is Day 22. #DrawDecember

Pencil sketches of several "Movement basics" exercises in the Drawing the Body section of the book. First is walking vs running, with two stick figures with torso & trunk sketched and large dots at joint connections. One figure is running and the other walking. The next pair is labeled Stress and Pressure and illustrates a figure pulling back on something with success & the other having a harder time of it. The final pair is Lifting Heavy Objects. The first figure is holding a medicine ball up above its head with confidence. The second is struggling to lift it. Then I drew a third figure implying that the second dropped the ball on its toe. "Ow! My toe!" It shouts.
