PSA for iPhone users: Back up your phone regularly. An iOS update through iTunes soft-bricked my iPhone, and the only fix was a factory reset. Even with a backup, restoring everything and revalidating app logins is a pain. At least you won't be starting from scratch.

If you gave me UBI, I wouldn’t just lie in bed watching YouTube. I do that now because I have a job but no money so I’m tired and sad most of the time. If I had money to live on I’d absolutely spend my time out of bed creating and writing things and going places and buying food.

The restaurant doesn’t know it, but a lot was at stake. They could’ve been my future go-to spot. After a thorough tasting, I’ve decided they’re not worth the price. Food wasn’t bad, but not worth the cost. And I’m not sure if it would have made a difference, but none of the cooks were Korean. 7/10

Heard a quote last night 'How badly do you have to abuse a mammal before they won't procreate?' Lack of food security, affordability crises, and unsafe outings directly correlate to flight or fight responses. Provide UBI, food stability, basic housing and it would be another baby boom generation.

Dolly Parton was UBI-adjacent. After the 2016 Tennessee wildfires, she created the My People Fund giving families who lost their homes $1,000 a month for six months. She didn’t dictate how they spent it, she trusted people to know what they needed. That’s the spirit of Universal Basic Income

I worked for a state government for many years. I am convinced that if you took all the social program dollars (unemployment, housing, food, health care, day care, etc) and spent those dollars to provide basic income for people, you would save money, reduce bureaucracy, and be more effective.

UBI is a no brainer, if even if you don't care about people. Just do the math. The real math including all the savings and the downstream effect on society and the economy. It just shows that even if you believe in capitalism, we're not doing smart capitalism.

Ireland's artist basic income paid back much of what it cost. That's why it's now permanent. Now South Korea is following: the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has announced plans to develop its own basic income model for artists by the end of 2026.

In 2009 I asked what’s common to humanity’s problems. Kept landing on one answer: people need passive income. Googled it. Found UBI. Read Thomas Paine Agrarian Justice on land, property, and the right to a share of the earth’s value. Conclusion: “not charity but a right, not bounty but justice.”

Hey, this is great. Now how about we give a universal basic income since I'm a full-time worker (stay-home Mom) that *never* gets any sick leave, vacation time, overtime pay, holiday pay, benefits, or anything else.
