As much as I'm loving Rhythm Pools, do whatever you're most excited to do, I'm in.

Yes, I think everyone I work with that's freelance also feels the same way, even after working with the same person for years and sending countless invoices to them.

They've been all in on this shit since the beginning, ready to cut every corner and workload they can with it and THEYRE SO OPEN ABOUT IT

Every time I bring up to people that Mihoyo is absolutely rife and putrid with AI they all respond with "only Genshin tho not [insert whatever game they want here]" and I'm like NO???? It's in ALL of it. They aren't just using it to "confirm code" or whatever other excuses I've heard, either.

Work and life have been brutal the past 4 months and I've never needed rest from it all more than now, yet my insomniac ass can't seem to get any.

If I had watched The Fifth Element when I was 11 or 12 instead of in the past year my life would have gone in a completely different direction. I blame all of you for not talking that movie up the way it deserves.

You don't have to do something so grand as to make a game, movie, or novel to inspire someone. You can start small. As long as you're putting something tangible out there, even simply a short poem or something, there's bound to be at least 1 person looking for what you have to say. I guarantee it.

ContentID has been fudged a lot over the years, I've been getting claims on music I have the license for, with the channel supposedly whitelisted, yet random other companies come in and claim it's their music. When looking into those companies all you see is complaints about false claims.

I think you also have to have some kind of skill tree that changes the way youre able to interact with the world and solve problems in the world further than just different kinds of attacks or different dialogue options.

Matthew Karch, CEO of multi-studio dev & publisher Saber Interactive, made the odd decision to stand up & shit his pants in front of the entire games industry over an ex-employee criticizing the studios' use of gen AI. My condolences to everyone who has to work around this type of feeble leadership

Needless to say ADHD symptoms ended up explaining tooooons of things throughout my life that I struggled with, not knowing my struggles weren't the common experience. What do you mean people have inherent satisfaction as they do work and don't need intense pressure to get things done fast?

120

Trey Allen @treylar.bsky.social · 25/07/2026

As a kid the doctor said I couldn't possibly have ADHD because I like to read and get extremely focused when I read... Cut to me crashing out at every monotonous job I had for years as an adult until I moved in with my ADHD S/O who saw how my work habits and such and told me to get screened again.
