Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 10/10/2026I'm mostly better now. Post viral cough almost cleared up. I've been using my returning energy to drive for Uber cus electric car and I got close to being flat broke before payday. I've already got about $100 in accepted reservations tomorrow. The catch is I need to be awake at 3AM. Goodnight. 020
Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 30/09/2026Around when I thought I was done being sick, I get hit with a doozy of an upper respiratory viral infection. Became symptomatic Sunday night and we're too understaffed for me to take sick leave without attracting the ire of the management. Been a hellish couple of days. (Kn95 mask on around people) 120

Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 23/09/2026My health has improved alongside my energy levels after wearing a kn95 mask at work and anytime I've gone outside. Great results to have. Horrible implications for the air around here. I need to get out of this county. The people staring at me doesn't do much to dissuade this desire. 121
Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 21/09/2026Ten years ago or so,there was a book I came across at thrift titled The Secret Strength of Depression. I never read it cover to cover, but I did skim a few chapters. It has one on medication that seemed to address my reservations towards the idea of taking antidepressants. It helped me overcome that 140

The expectations are largely internal. A reflection more of insecurities than defined quality. The drive to improve can be a good thing, but don't let invisible expectations weigh down your soul. 132
Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 04/09/2026My symptoms have improved, but I still have symptoms. The docs are bumping me up to augmentin. I hope I'll be more active after I'm feeling better. 030
Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 01/09/2026I finally got around to posting on the alt account. This is where I'll be more openly reblogging art and sharing what encouragement I can! @willowisp-illustration.com has an amazing talent for vector art and a hungry commission queue. Professional work. Go buy a dragon from her! 171
Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 01/09/2026It's been a nearly routine part of my life where I finally get the steam, the motivation to fight and do the things I feel will improve my life. Then I get sick and I'm back to square one. So here I am, three days into a bottle of amoxicillin... 130
Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 24/08/2026I reblog stuff from Patrick because the guy seems to be able to put into words lessons that were hard fought and won through my own journey through recovery. Sometimes it seems better to do that than leave things silent. To succeed: Loving yourself is not optional. Compassion is not optional. 010
Reposted by Trevor RainDr. Glenn Patrick Doyle @drdoylesays.bsky.social · 24/08/2026Self compassion is not "nice to have" in realistic trauma recovery, or an abstract, aspirational idea-- it is a fundamental tool. The beliefs & attitudinal lens through which we understand & respond to ourselves affects all our feelings & decisions. It matters. 06313
Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 20/08/2026Haven't been as active because of a dumb illness. I might be more active in the future because a new med seems to allow me to function reliably like a normal human for the first time in my life. We shall see. 120

Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 12/08/2026Something I've been meaning to say: I'm again the use of LLMs (AI) In creative works. I will not endorse its use in art, be it visual mediums, music, video games, voicework, and overall content creation. I want to connect with people. Not slop. If I post anything with A.I. call me out. Mistake. 250
Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 12/08/2026I might as well post the pizza I got today. Going off a recommendation, I got a white garlic pizza sauce with jalapenos and Philly cheesesteak. Not pictured is a can of pineapple so I could save money on the topping and keep it optional. Pretty good. Local place. 220
Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 11/08/2026I like cheerleading people's creativity, but I seem to be energized when it's someone who doesn't have a following yet. I like the art and share it, I don't feel compelled to comment on something that already has a hundred comments. Talented artist with zero comments and five followers? I dive in. 150
Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 11/08/2026Tunic likely shares the same awkward fate as Outer Wilds as a wonderful game with some delightfully subversive mechanics where a single errant spoiler can ruin the experience of a lifetime. Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 11/08/2026I feel like I owe much of my emotional growth to music. Songs about pain, love, death. Songs about making mistakes, making them again. They all gave me new emotions to chew on and consider. They're also the songs that helped me to put words to how I was feeling. Growth by proxy. 1/2 130
Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 10/08/2026I don't normally tell very many people, or anyone really, when I'm going through a rough time. Though I've made progress on my own recovery, bad days can often. Telling people I'm feeling crummy for the hundredth time seems like a broken record, and I feel worse when it seems like they're ignored. 040

Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 05/08/2026I love music.I'm drawn to lyrics.I enjoy the poetry, the unreliable narration, the experiences that bleed through. I once had a friend tell me that vocals are just another instrument. While that may be true for some songs, I'm strongly opposed to that opinion. Spoken word, language, is very powerful 050
Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 31/07/2026I'm thinking about making a second account where I repost and comment on artwork I enjoy. I want to impart encouragement to these artists as well. Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 23/07/2026I don't remember if I felt this exhausted after work a year ago. I remember at least jumping onto discord to chat with friends, but more often I'm making a b line for bed. 020
Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 19/07/2026I became a food agnostic years ago. I just stopped caring about when I ate things. Leftover spaghetti for breakfast? It's what I'm craving so that's what I'm eating. I'll scarf a breakfast burrito at any hour of the day. I care more about how I feel. Heavy evening meals have not been kind to me. 031

Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 16/07/2026I've complained about this before off platform. Utah charges an extra fee on top of the normal registration costs if you drive an alternative fuel vehicle. Utah uses gas tax to fund road maintenance, which I get to a point, but this feels like a punishment. Clean air should count for something. 131
Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 16/07/2026I submitted a comment. Unfortunately, with the time and energy I have, I could only really appeal to Ethos, with some Pathos. Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 16/07/2026I may never reach my desired contentment. Financial security, a peaceful place to live with clean air, a partner to share my existence with. But I know that if I give up trying, then that "may never" will turn into a "will never". A step at a time. Self improvement also improves my chances. 043
Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 14/07/2026Okay, I either didn't take pictures of every charge session or I misplaced them somehow. From start to AZ, 715 miles traveled. Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 13/07/2026Okay seriously. I've seen dozens of accounts on my timeline make the same joke regarding Graham. This is weird. Are you all just cribbing off each other or did a podcast come out that made a food appetizer joke? 111
Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 09/07/2026I'm back to the grind which means just enough energy at the end of the day to stumble to bed. I'll get things organized this weekend like the fast charging costs. In the meantime, have these unexpected statistics I found when messing with my menus. 131
Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 07/07/2026This is one instance where I feel like a wizard. This Chargepoint isn't on the chargepoint app. Isn't even on plugshare (and I'm not going to add it on there). No instructions. No app, but I have this RFID I found that the previous owner didn't activate. I tap the talisman and awaken the machine. 121
Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 07/07/2026It's good to be back where, although only 20kw/h, the charging is free There are people who have difficulty wrapping their heads around how broad and accessible electricity is. As long as you're not a jerk, there are people who don't care if you charge a reasonable amount. If you don't mind waiting 131
Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 06/07/2026I made it back in one piece. I'll try to organize more posts on the trip at a later date. I need to do laundry and crash. I won't want to do a road trip in one go like that again for a long time. Back to work tomorrow. 010
Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 05/07/2026I don't know if I read it somewhere or watched a video, but I remember someone saying that when EVS were still a new thing there was a lot of conversation to be had between owners at charging stations. Seems I missed the boat on that as most. I've ran into are in a hurry. No time for a sentence. 010
Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 05/07/2026I didn't have a very good signal where I charged up near Sedona, so I didn't upload there. It's actually in village of oak Creek which is south of Sedona. There's a doughnut shop here that has breakfast sandwiches and some delightfully crispy croissants. 110
Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 05/07/2026Being eager to get home, I haven't been posting as much during my return trip home. It feels like I'm making better time, but I still have a three hour drive from Page to Beaver. I enjoyed the forested mountains at dusk, so I look forward to seeing them in daylight. 110
Trevor Rain @trevorrain.bsky.social · 03/07/2026I think I still have this feeling that posting so often is somehow trying people's patience and wasting their time. That's really not how it works, is it? The people I should be focusing on are the ones delighted by my words, not the imaginary critics in my mind. 210
