Running with Autism @trevize1138.bsky.social · 16/07/2026This article makes a great point about how there's a lot of magical thinking on the side of tech people who foolishly think they're above that. They're abandoning core software development principles like efficiency and trying to brute force AI. All they're getting is a bloated beast. 100
Running with Autism @trevize1138.bsky.social · 23/06/2026Sick 17yo cat this morning. Back from the vet and he's getting better. I'm reminded of when my kids were infants and how poorly I did with all the middle of the night interruptions. Normal infant stuff but I really struggled. Looking back that was all pre-autism diagnosis. 110
Running with Autism @trevize1138.bsky.social · 14/06/2026In North Platte, NE on our way to CO. Family vacation. Weirdest veterans memorial I've ever seen. Looks like a miniature of the colosseum in Hunger Games. And the sculpture is older than generative AI but somehow the artist captured that aesthetic. 010
Running with Autism @trevize1138.bsky.social · 02/06/2026My autistic 18yo just failed his 4th attempt at the driver's test. He's so heartbroken. He's also immensely frustrated. He lists of all the other people his age who are terrible drivers but they got their licenses. He can detail the exact ways they're terrible drivers because he's objectively not. 310

Running with Autism @trevize1138.bsky.social · 27/05/2026American men are really, really weird about exposing their feet. THIS is 100% the reason most don't try running in bare feet. Blah blah glass... Blah blah dog poop... Blah blah "exposure to chemicals" (that's a new one I just heard.) Exposed feet to American men: taboo as women's nipples. 000

Running with Autism @trevize1138.bsky.social · 24/03/2026Many myths about barefoot running are the exact opposite in reality. "You need tough feet." No, my feet are still sensitive and easy to blister. "You need perfect form before you go barefoot." No, you go barefoot to learn perfect form. "It's dangerous" I just don't get injuries now. 000
Running with Autism @trevize1138.bsky.social · 23/03/2026Latest experiment: running with loose laces. Still figuring out why it works so well. My going theory is it strongly *discourages* over-leveraging traction. When I over-leverage traction I over-stride (braking move). Loose laces seems to result in smoother running. 100
Running with Autism @trevize1138.bsky.social · 20/03/2026Andy Weir is one of my favorite authors. I heard him in an interview detail, very matter of fact, why The Martian is "not a good book" and he's "not a real author" according to critics. Too plot driven. No character dev. No character arc. Then I read PHM and he addressed all those points. 010
Running with Autism @trevize1138.bsky.social · 19/03/2026Latest realization: When I run in shoes whether they're thick soles or super thin it's like my feet are dumbly *hitting* the ground.
