🧵 I've recorded 40 separate sets of #StarTrek #SNW Season 4 rankings. In summary, we have a pretty set stacking with a clear cut 1-3, 4 and 5 neatly tiered together, 6-8 in close proximity and a clear and decisive result at 9 & 10. I'll release another update if/when I record 50 lists total. 📈📉📊

TrekFan4387 (Bill) @trekfan4387.bsky.social · 04/10/2026

"Vox Sola" is a very good showcase for Hoshi and it gives a large chunk of the cast quality material to play. The creature effects haven't aged especially well, but there's some really great science fiction especially in the tail end of this episode. On balance, it works. Score: 3.0/5 #TrekRewatch5

280

TrekFan4387 (Bill) @trekfan4387.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

"Detained" doesn't operate with an especially fresh story structure, but it does follow in the tried and true #StarTrek tradition of offering pointed if not subtle social commentary. It's clear-eyed in its messaging and offers well staged action and crisp performances. Score: 3.5/5 #TrekRewatch5

150

TrekFan4387 (Bill) @trekfan4387.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

"Oasis" begins with a moody, potentially interesting premise dabbling in spooky horror tones. However, it pivots into a routine, redundant mystery, while relaxed, easy going pacing undermines any tension. The best asset is Trinneer’s solid chemistry with Annie Wersching. Score: 1.5/5 #TrekRewatch5

090

TrekFan4387 (Bill) @trekfan4387.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

"Acquisition" is full of interesting, effective stylistic choices, most notably the opening several minutes in full Ferengi with no subtitles. Quality comedic beats and fun gags deliver some winning moments, despite it culminating into a generally empty final product. Score: 2.0/5 #TrekRewatch5

170

TrekFan4387 (Bill) @trekfan4387.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

"Rogue Planet" struggles to find a launching point, despite offering some decent production values and an above average lead guest performance. It's a routine and safe morality play and offers little in the way of surprises in story or execution. A missed opportunity. Score: 1.5/5 #TrekRewatch5

130

TrekFan4387 (Bill) @trekfan4387.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

"Fusion" is a tough sit. There's some reasonably successful character exploration for T'Pol, but the story device used to pull those insights out of her is retrograde and deeply unpleasant. The Trip/Kov subplot is a little more successful, but it's overshadowed. A miss. Score: 1.5/5 #TrekRewatch5

TrekFan4387 (Bill) @trekfan4387.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

"Shuttlepod One" is a one of a kind outing with a bare bones conceptual angle, and a laser focused emphasis on character. Connor Trinneer and Dominic Keating are both in top form and ably carry this modest, but highly successful drama. One of #Enterprise's finest hours. Score: 5.0/5 #TrekRewatch5

"Shadows of P'Jem" is another episode reliant on familiar plotting, but finds success in solid character work and important world building, big picture elements. Most impactful is the charting of the evolution of Archer and T'Pol's partnership and trust. Essential stuff. Score: 3.0/5 #TrekRewatch5

1140

TrekFan4387 (Bill) @trekfan4387.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

"Sleeping Dogs" is fairly routine in its execution, but the character moments are uniformly successful. Very strong scenes and meaningful development for T'Pol, Hoshi and Archer significantly elevate the well-worn plotting. Not a classic by any means, but it's worthwhile. Score: 2.5/5 #TrekRewatch5

TrekFan4387 (Bill) @trekfan4387.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

"Dear Doctor" takes full advantage of #Enterprise's prequel concept, and finds a fresh approach to a prime directive sort of dilemma. I love the whimsical approach to its pacing, using a distinctive and memorable score to underline that tonal approach. Compelling drama. Score: 5.0/5 #TrekRewatch5

1110

TrekFan4387 (Bill) @trekfan4387.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

"Silent Enemy" is a sturdily built action thriller with a less successful, oddly paired B-story. There's good character work throughout, but the imbalance of tones gives it a bit of an uneven feeling. The power of the A-story and killer production values carry the day. Score: 3.5/5 #TrekRewatch5

0130

TrekFan4387 (Bill) @trekfan4387.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

"Cold Front" is a plot heavy, essential entry into #ENT's overarching story. The introduction of Daniels and establishment of the Temporal Cold War as a recurring thread give it a sense of dramatic urgency. It works very well when it leans into its mysterious qualities. Score: 4.0/5 #TrekRewatch5

0142

TrekFan4387 (Bill) @trekfan4387.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

"Fortunate Son" explores some big picture ideas core and specific to #Enterprise, but largely skirts the most interesting opportunities along those lines. What is presented is a largely routine, and standard-issue story with mixed results from the central performances. Score: 2.0/5 #TrekRewatch5

"Tomorrow's Enterprise" was an excellent finale for #SNW's very strong fourth season. This show has given Celia Rose Gooding some great material, but this was the best Uhura episode in #StarTrek's 60 year history. Fresh, innovative sci-fi all in service of character, landing big emotional resonance.

TrekFan4387 (Bill) @trekfan4387.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

"Civilization" takes a classical approach conceptually and begins with great promise. However, the tone becomes less fun and more routine as it progresses. It's well designed, with outstanding sets, costumes and an evocative score. Well made but lacking emotional impact. Score: 2.0/5 #TrekRewatch5

180

TrekFan4387 (Bill) @trekfan4387.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

"Breaking the Ice" is a modest, reserved drama, taking a relaxed, almost day in the life approach, giving its character moments room to breathe. It's well balanced, offering the cast quality opportunities to shine. Far from the most memorable outing, but it's rock solid. Score: 3.0/5 #TrekRewatch5

TrekFan4387 (Bill) @trekfan4387.bsky.social · 19/09/2026

"The Andorian Incident" overcomes the framework of a fairly basic hostage drama, with well executed plotting, major tone-setting twists, and dynamic character interplay. Jeffrey Combs' Shran is an all-timer #StarTrek guest character, bringing incredible energy to the mix. Score: 4.5/5 #TrekRewatch5

#SNW was mostly a misfire for me this week. While I thought it ended quite strong, and did feature some meaningful character exploration for La'An, I felt it was mostly overwhelmed by the mixed results of the fantasy mechanics of the story and the forced connection back to "The Elysian Kingdom". 🤷‍♂️

TrekFan4387 (Bill) @trekfan4387.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

"Terra Nova" covers familiar ground, but it leans into prequel specifics in a way that provides just enough of a fresh flavor to mesh with the well-worn foundation. Strong guest performances and a uniquely evocative score are the highlights of this uneven, mixed bag. Score: 2.0/5 #TrekRewatch5

TrekFan4387 (Bill) @trekfan4387.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

"Unexpected" is quite successful in the early going with an immersive and ambitious approach to conveying a truly alien enviornment. When the story pivots into outright comedy and its (self awarely) absurd premise, things go awry with its obvious, and on the nose jokes. Score: 2.0/5 #TrekRewatch5

"Fight or Flight" is a fitting follow up to “Broken Bow”, putting a major focus on exploring Hoshi and Archer’s struggles to find their proverbial space legs in their respective roles. It effectively uses horror elements to drive home the prequel nature of the series. Score: 3.0/5 #TrekRewatch5

"Endgame" is a more successful finale than it's often given credit for, but it's certainly not as emotionally impactful as #TNG's or #DS9's. Kate Mulgrew is completely towering as both Janeways and puts a final stamp on her iconic performance. Ambitious and mostly solid. Score: 3.5/5 #TrekRewatch5
