After a few days with Sailfish OS, I think I understand one challenge. The philosophy is interesting: an open, independent platform where users and developers can contribute. Coming from iOS, you notice the value of “convention over configuration”. More freedom also means more decisions.

I have a thought - probably an obvious one, but I'll write it anyway. We're all fighting the same war for a better world, waging battles on different fronts. Some fight disinformation, some tackle climate change, others stand up for animal welfare or EU software independence.

I’ve been working on a native LocalSend client for Sailfish OS. It’s still early, but I’m already using it on my Jolla Phone. There’s still plenty to do, but it’s nice to have it running on the actual phone. #SailfishOS #Jolla #LocalSend

Coming from an iPhone 17 Pro, I understand the hesitation 😅 After a few days: I really like Sailfish and the idea behind it. It’s not iOS though, there are rough edges (apps, browser, navigation). Still, I think it’s worth exploring. I like the idea of an independent mobile platform

A few days with the Jolla Phone and the app situation is already confusing. Jolla Store → Pure Maps → Chum → Storeman 😵‍💫 There are more Sailfish apps than it first seems, but current versions shouldn’t require three stores. The Jolla Store needs more apps and newer versions. #SailfishOS #Jolla
