Opportunity Cost means every decision locks you out of something, not just with time but also energy, money and possibilities that may or may not happen. Sunk Cost Fallacy is holding onto something that is better to let go even after all the time/energy/money sunk into it.

Both go hand in hand. It’s tough to cut losses especially if you spent years on something but you end up stuck with tunnel vision. It’s why “kill your darlings” is one of the first lessons a writer should learn. Honorable mention to Diminishing Returns, most things aren’t exponential growth forever
