When I moved to Ontario in 2010 the Prince Edward County Wine region was in its infancy. Dan Sullivan at Rosehall Run introduced me, a travel blogger, to the challenges of wine making in the County. His vines were only 10 yrs old. I had his unoaked chard Friday & could taste the 16 yr difference

Now that my sister is on a nursing home and I visit frequently . I find her moods affect mine for the rest of the day. Sometimes it’s fun and we have great talks and other times she’s I full breakdown and telling me how I can’t ever go home because she needs me too much. ITime 4 Netflix Binge.

Anyone following my posts recently would know that life has been rough recently as my older sister who was my partner in crime for so macoffee adventure slips into dementia. Today we received wonderful news that she has a room at a long term care home 2 km from my house. So easy to visit.

We had a vacation day to Prince Edward County Ontario today. Lunch at Inn at Lake on the Mountain. One of the cCounty’s best restaurants with a fantastic cuisine at reasonable prices. A great choice of international local wines I had Stanners!s Vineyard 2018 oaked Chardonnay. It was superb.

Yesterday’s hospital visit was a little better. There are more moments of quiet conversation and less pain filled panic. I baked the moistest and most delicious rhubarb muffins I have ever made as a special treat and she barely tasted it . Where now recovery or a coma’s numbing embrace.

Sometimes when you go to visit a friend in hospital, you hear some one screaming, begging for help, and staff walk by as if nothing is happening. But yesterday it was my sister screaming helpless and hopeless in fear and pain. There was nothing I could do.
