With Resident Evil, Zach Cregger gives us the feeling of playing a video game while still delivering a compelling narrative, balancing game elements, horror, and plenty of humor—largely because Austin Abrams feels like the perfect protagonist for the story. #filmsky trashwire.com/2026/09/17/r...

Finally watched I Want Your Sex. One of the many weird generational divides between millennials and gen Z seems to be our views about sex scenes in cinema, so I guess it's not surprising that I enjoyed this horny little movie. trashwire.com/2026/09/05/i... #filmsky

Horror is a genre where filmmakers are still allowed to take creative risks, to try new ideas, to make a film that doesn’t have to aim for the broadest audience possible, which is how we get fun ideas like Buddy. trashwire.com/2026/08/28/b... #filmsky

Alexis from Trashwire @trashwire.com · 19/07/2026
70mm IMAX is a perk, not a requirement. It’s better to share the communal experience of getting immersed in a story with other folks in a theater than it is to get too hung up on format. A good movie is a good movie on any screen, so don’t worry if you can’t catch The Odyssey in 70mm IMAX

I keep going back to this song, which will probably make my list of favorite movie moments of the year. It's a pivotal character turning point in the story, and there's such a beautiful contrast in presenting it through a vibrant, jaunty musical number. youtu.be/v5aeCxjlCWE?...
