Wood County Dems have joined in. (I'm not saying the statement is as strong as if prefer, but when the party is actively trying to silence criticism, any statement is appreciated.)

Graphic text: Statement by Arienne Childrey, ODP Pride Caucus Vice Chair (writing strictly in a personal capacity; opinions are her own and not endorsed by the caucus or ODP). "In 2025, I was proud to be elected Vice Chair of the ODP Pride Caucus. I take my responsibility to represent the LGBTQ+ community—and, as a trans woman, especially the trans community—very seriously. I am deeply disturbed by the concerted effort by the Ohio Democratic Party to silence fellow Democrats attempting to hold candidates accountable for anti-trans positions and advertising. Twice today, a mild, respectful statement from a county party was deleted from the Pride Caucus social media channels. Let me be explicit: these deletions were not executed by the Pride Caucus. They were carried out directly by the Ohio Democratic Party itself, overreaching to censor our platform. That statement didn't attack the congresswoman; it simply asked her to discontinue her anti-trans ads. Apparently, even that basic demand for human dignity is too much for ODP leadership. This censorship must be called out. The only thing more disgusting than a Democrat leaning into transphobic messages for a perceived electoral advantage is a state party apparatus that steps in to silence the people criticizing that behavior.I have no doubt some within leadership would love for me to resign to make their lives easier. But it has never been my job to make the lives of bureaucrats—who trade on trans rights like a commodity—easier. My job is to fight for my community and ensure we are represented. I will continue to do exactly that, even when it makes the 'powers that be' uncomfortable. A Democratic Party that abandons the marginalized is a soulless party. I won't stop trying to save the heart and soul of this party, I won't be silenced, and I won't allow the voices of our community to be silenced." This statement is personal commentary and is not paid for or authorized by any campaign committee.

You can email Kaptur's office. info@marcykaptur.com BE NICE. Seriously. BE NICE. The staffer reading the email doesn't deserve vitriol. They weren't responsible for the ad. They're just some intern or admin assistant. My email to them yesterday:

Rep. Kaptur:

I nearly threw up when I heard about your ad throwing trans kids under the bus. I always thought you were one of the good ones, but apparently not. Feminism? What's that? I hope you are primaried next time around. You don't win elections by throwing tiny minorities of people under the bus and undermining their rights. You win by strongly protecting EVERYONE'S
RIGHTS, especially vulnerable children. Have you learned nothing from the last 10 years? Apparently not. Candidates like you are constantly begging for money nationwide, and I give to people in states all over the country all the time but I wouldn't give you a penny, even if you were going to lose
to the worst Trumper in the world. It's disgusting what you've done and you'll never wash the stench of it off you. Retire. It's the only option you have left. Let someone new take your seat. Maybe they won't be such an
embarrassment.
You have no shame, but you should. I hope your kids and grandkids are reading you the riot act and telling you how awful this is. You deserve to hear it. It's appalling.

The level at which the Ohio state Democratic party is attacking its own members to crack down on solidarity with trans people is extremely disturbing.

Hilary Cass climbed out from under the bridge she calls home to tell the BBC there's no evidence of any harms to trans young people from puberty blockers. Infuriating! Evan Urquhart has more here: assignedmedia.org/breaking-new...

It's absurd that a podcast about gender affirming care for trans youth failed to include a single interview of a current trans youth. And yet, this was considered pulitzer worthy. They were missing the entire subject of the story. Trans people are always spoken about but never spoken to.

Therefore, I made this post so doctors attending the San Francisco conference would be aware of DIAG: who they are, what they're doing, and what side they are on. Don't be fooled by the name!

TIP FROM A READER: DIAG, a group that self-identifies as "Democrat" but espouses conservative gender ideology, may be planning to to proselytize outside the Pediatric Endocrine Society (PES) Annual Meeting in San Francisco, April 30-May 3, which is a major medical conference. (A THREAD)

Progress for LGBTQ folks in Hungary likely won't come from the Tisza party. They'll be less overtly persecuted as they were under Orban but the new governing party is not exactly progressive on LGBTQ rights. What they will do is enable liberal institutions to once again protect human rights.

Imagine a study that found kids with ADHD have more visits to doctors than kids without ADHD — and used that finding to suggest ADHD treatment doesn't work. That's the standard of evidence the anti-trans braintrust is willing to accept.

I really hope someone fact checks this nonsense and exposes the meeting as the attempt to pressure medical organizations to stop supporting trans healthcare that it was and not some neutral non political meeting!

Last month, HHS put out a report on gender-affirming care that reads like a checklist of logical fallacies. @adrianshanker.bsky.social & I published a piece in @newsweek.com on the consequences of misrepresenting evidence, and the real science behind healthcare for trans youth. tinyurl.com/3ryx2tbu

I actually fully understand and agree that this shouldn’t be covered in a newspaper especially one like the NYT. As I said, I wasn’t saying people should agree to be interviewed about this. I just wanted more info on how bad she is because I’ve only seen a few of her articles so I didn’t know
