TLG Writes
Breaking the Doom Spiral By Chloe B
“Under the banner of a single, nationwide organisation dedicated to our liberation alongside the liberation of all oppressed people, we can not only one day stop the fascist onslaught, but reverse it and turn it into an onslaught against its criminal perpetrators. Those are our principles; liberation for the oppressed, and justice against the oppressors.”

TLG Writes
Breaking the Doom Spiral By Chloe B
“Every dark moment of history comes to an end. The question facing each of us is simply how long we are willing to endure the darkness before we do something about it. Join the Trans Liberation Group and start building trans power across the country with us.”

Now on our blog, Chloe B writes about NHS policy and how we can fight back.

Alt text: 'TLG Writes
Breaking this Doom Spiral: As Far-Right Bloggers Inform NHS Policy, How Do We Begin to Fight Back? By Chloe B
Things are bad for trans people in Britain, and getting worse all the time. A hate movement is rampaging through the institutions, hell-bent on our eradication. Chloe B argues in light of this that now is not the time to shy away from the fight, but to build a movement that can eventually win it.'

TLG Writes
Breaking the Doom Spiral By Chloe B
“Soulless, cowardly bureaucrats, who have for years refused to engage with the affected communities on such issues, have handed down another decision which will lead to preventable deaths. This amounts to the murder-by-proxy of transgender people; one further thrust in a genocidal campaign”

TLG Writes
Breaking the Doom Spiral By Chloe B
“The deafening silence of Prime Minister Andy Burnham [...] who was previously happy to “stand alongside” trans people as mayor of Manchester, should be raised as a key issue against those who would like to view his premiership as somehow left-wing.”

TLG Writes
Breaking the Doom Spiral by Chloe B
“In the face of escalating oppression we must escalate our resistance; to resist effectively, an organisation capable of unifying the struggle on a national level is necessary. [...] [P]olitical power for the oppressed is nothing more or less than the result of collective action, co-ordinated by structures that we erect to govern ourselves and direct our efforts.”

Next up in our blog series is Cece's discussion of the new EHRC guidance and how to fight it proactively.

Trans Segregation, a New Era of Misogyny by Cece Standring
Cece Standring provides a summary of changes to the EHRC guidance, how it will affect individuals and organisations, and what can be done to fight back.
A must read for an in-depth understanding of how the EHRC operates.

Alt text: TLG Writes
Trans Segregation, a New Era of Misogyny by Cece Standring
"With the relentless attacks against trans people in recent years, it is hard to avoid continually fighting on the back foot. While we should absolutely be resisting the attacks we are facing today, we will not be able to reverse the damage without taking control of the narrative and making positive demands."

Alt text: TLG Writes
Trans Segregation, a New Era of Misogyny by Cece Standring
"This new interpretation of the Equality Act largely nullifies the Gender Recognition Act, and happened without a vote in Parliament."

Alt text: TLG Writes
Trans Segregation, a New Era of Misogyny by Cece Standring
"Resisting this latest attack against trans people offers another opportunity to build a more serious force for effectively resisting the current attacks, and going beyond to win real gains for trans liberation."

TLG is launching its blog. This is a space for members to explore their own ideas and contribute their thoughts on all things trans liberation. Kicking us off is Rosa's thoughts on how to find optimism in struggle.

Alt text: 'TLG Writes On the Need for Material Optimism by Rosa S.
The fight for trans liberation feels hopeless at times but Rosa S argues giving in to this feeling creates a cycle of despair.
Instead, through active involvement in the struggle, you can break this pattern and create a path to victory.
Trans Liberation Group'

Alt text: 'The pessimism of many unpoliticised or depoliticised trans people is perfectly valid. But it is yet to be constructive. We can complain about living on “terf island”, retreat within ourselves, withdraw from public life and ultimately submit. Or we can fight back.'

Alt text: 'You can fight the battles in your head and lose them without putting in any effort - any cause can be a lost cause through rigorous enough defeatism, guaranteeing the worst outcome. Or, you can choose to fight.

Alt text: 'There are ways to win and these victories will be driven by us. You can have faith in a leadership figure or an institution, you can hope they do the right thing, but the true force for change exists within ourselves.'

LIZZIE BAILEY SELECTED BY TLG MEMBERS FOR YOUR PARTY’S COLLECTIVE LEADERSHIP CEC WELSH SEAT Lizzie Bailey (she/they) has been chosen by TLG members to run for the Welsh seat of Your Party’s Collective Leadership. @lizzie4cec.bsky.social

“My name is Lizzie and I am committed to fighting for socialist change, both within Your Party and beyond it. I've been involved in a variety of political groups and have taken on roles such as LGBT+ officer, Women's officer and co-chair of UNISON's national young members group.

I've also been involved in local community organising including Palestinian liberation groups, anti-fascist groups, and educational workshops. I've been learning about politics and social injustice since I was a child, as I wanted to understand why hard working people still faced significant financial issues. I went on to study politics at university for my undergraduate degree and completed a masters in sociology in 2020.

I believe our society has more than enough wealth for us all to live long, healthy and fulfilling lives, but in our current political system all this wealth has been concentrated to a small number of individuals and this needs to change. Your Party can help drive this change, but we need to build a party that is accountable and speaks for ordinary people.

I am committed to building Your Party from the ground up and have taken an active role to help build our local protobranch in Cardiff.

As the CEC representative for Welsh members, I will ensure I represent the grassroots membership and continue working to help build a party that delivers change for the ordinary people that make up our communities and Your Party.”

Against Sections: For Democratic Liberation TLG believes in empowering groups to organise democratically, develop their own consciousness and elevate their membership. No individual can speak for us!

Text: This causes many issues.

It creates another layer of bureaucracy for minority peoples to navigate to get their voice heard. In many parties, these sections are factionally aligned to the leadership to maintain their access and privileges, which makes them ineffective at speaking up or providing criticism.

In reserved seats, token anointed individuals are treated as a way of signing off on decisions affecting groups, without having to consult them.

Text: There is a better way of doing politics, a way that centres democracy and member led liberation.

The aim is not to have a single trans person signing off on decisions; it is to build strong, democratic structures that encourage people to take the lead in their own political development and their liberation. We can build strong, diverse organisers, we can debate strategy, refine our policy and be an exemplar of democracy.

Text: We do not need to attach ourselves to specific leaders - allies or not.

We instead show everyone that the power lies with the members and anyone can support us.

Through our empowerment and building each other up within our interrelated struggles, we then become impossible to sideline. Our influence becomes permanent and reliant on no one but ourselves.

Free the Filton 24! Free all political prisoners! Free Palestine!

031

Trans Liberation Group @transliberationgroup.org.uk · 26/11/2025

Solidarity with the Filton 24! Solidarity with Prisoners for Palestine!

Text: The Filton 24 are a group of 24 activists charged with taking direct action against an Elbit Systems factory.

All 24 are being held in prison without trial, with some expecting to face almost two years in prison before their trial. The British government is using counter-terrorism powers to punish people for resisting a genocide.

We are now entering the fourth week of a hunger strike by six prisoners.

Text: They are on hunger strike to try and win five demands:

• End all censorship of prisoners
• Immediate bail
• The right to a fair trial
• Deproscribe Palestine Action
• Shut Elbit down

It is the biggest collective hunger strike in the prisons of the British state since the 1981 Irish republicans’ hunger strike in the north of Ireland.

Text: In addition, last week the first trial of the Filton 24 started and is due to last 10 weeks.

The Trans Liberation Group would like to express our unconditional solidarity with all of the political prisoners arrested for resisting the genocide in Palestine.

We fully support the cause of Palestinian liberation, which we know is linked to our own struggle for liberation. No one is free until all of us are free

Liberation for one must mean Liberation for all!

Text: Transphobia is deeply linked to misogyny.

Text: Restrictions on bodily autonomy devastate both cis women and trans people, and escalating attacks on trans people coincide with wider attacks on all those who challenge established gender norms that reinforce Patriarchy and White-Supremacy.

The rise in Nationalism and attacks on migrants is part of a pattern of scapegoating marginalised communities. Far-right ideologies offer no real answers to the housing crisis, cost of living crisis, or decimation of public services. When they win power and fail to address underlying issues, they simply escalate attacks and create new scapegoats.

Text: We cannot effectively fight these systems of oppression individually.

The fight for Trans Liberation is inextricably linked to the fights against Capitalism, Nationalism, White-Supremacy, and Patriarchy.

Text: Liberation for one must mean Liberation for all! Join us!

Trans lives do not exist in a vacuum‼️ Here is our explanation of what Trans Liberation is.

Text: What is Trans Liberation? (An explainer...).

Text: While our community faces unique oppression because of the fact we are trans, we also suffer disproportionally from the oppressions of other marginalised communities that we belong to, as well as those felt by the working class as a whole.

Trans Liberation recognises that these struggles are interconnected, and can only be solved through working class solidarity that seeks to address the oppression faced by all marginalised communities, like ours, alongside the wider struggle for a Socialist society.

Text: Trans lives do not exist in a vacuum!

Text: Healthcare is becoming harder to access.

Whether through the government's cruel ban on Puberty Blockers for trans kids, through the targeted deterioration of trans healthcare on the NHS, or the dismantling of the NHS healthcare generally, trans people without financial means to access private healthcare are particularly harmed.

We remember our murdered siblings not only as victims of an unjust world, but as part of a movement of resistance. We hope that our trans and non-binary siblings can take time today to remember and to grieve. Tomorrow, we turn those feelings into determination.

Title: TRANS DAY OF REMEMBERANCE
Body: We hope that all of our trans and non-binary siblings can take some time today to remember and to grieve. Tomorrow, we will turn those feelings into a determination to make the world a better place.

Body: We recognise the 360 known trans and non-binary people who have lost their lives prematurely this year. The true number of those lost is likely to be higher due to underreporting and misrepresentation of trans identity in the media and police reports.

Honouring their memory is not just about mourning but also demanding justice. Systemic failures in healthcare, policing, housing and employment frequently leave trans people vulnerable.

Body: 78% of those killed in transphobic hate crimes were trans women of colour. We must be explicitly clear that the intersections of racism, misogyny and transphobia put trans women of colour in the most danger. Trans liberation is impossible without an uncompromising struggle against racism, misogyny, ableism and all other forms of oppression.
