Authoring GTFS-Pathways using Interline Station Editor? Consuming thousands of feeds using Transitland APIs? Planning multimodal journeys using Interline Routing Platform APIs? Interline Principal Ian Rees will be happy to chat about it all at MobilityData's upcoming summit...

Congratulations to the connectbayarea.com campaign! We were glad to make a small cash donation as their massive signature-gathering drive got underway, and are thrilled to see this transit-funding measure heading to November ballots across five SF Bay Area counties:

The linked blog post includes a Python script if you'd also like to combine California coastal access points (or any other GIS features) with Transitland Datasets: www.interline.io/blog/riding-...

Thanks to @thecacoast.bsky.social's open data, we've found that a clear majority of California coastal access points are accessible via public transit:
Results: transit frequency to reach the California coast

We ran that script against an April 2026 Transitland Dataset covering all US transit operators. Out of 1,625 coastal access points with coordinates:

🚌 913 have a transit stop within a half mile (more than half of all coastal access points in the state)
🔍 427 more have transit within three miles (likely hikeable, assuming there are appropriate pedestrian shoulders or trails)
The remaining 285 have no transit within three miles

The California Coastal Commission recently updated YourCoast, an interactive web map of over 1,600 public access points. You can filter by restrooms, surfing, camping, dog-friendliness, stroller access, car parking... What you can't filter by is public transit www.interline.io/blog/riding-...

Some existing feeds were sourced from Transitland to enrich in the UIUC UTEL Intercity Bus feed. This is a great example of how open data powers "virtuous cycles" 🔄 Thanks to the research team for carefully documenting their sources: github.com/UTEL-UIUC/in... We hope they'll keep updating this!

Great work by University of Illinois's Urban Traffic & Economics Lab to curate and create GTFS data for many intercity bus routes. We've added their feed into the Transitland Atlas and its routes, stops, schedules, etc. can now be queried using Transitland's APIs: www.transit.land/feeds/f-utel...

When I'm new to city, @transitland.bsky.social helps me understand its underlying mobility structure. TransitLand learned from @googlemaps.bsky.social excellence on street and highway scaling and applied to transit. Here's hoping all mobility mapping will focus on user utility rather than mode

I ❤️ Transitland. For most western North America and Global South cities, rapid buses are core mobility. Yet most maps elevate infrequent rail lines aimed at the elite. I love this update but worry it under-values rail in European and East Asian cities. Thoughts?
