Lesson of the day: for residential food composting programs, it’s okay to put food wastes in a paper bag in the Green Bin but do NOT put food waste in any plastic bags (even it it says “compostable”) Best to put food wastes directly into the Bin w/o any bags. ♻️

Spotted during a drive through San Francisco 👀 I had no idea what these were, other than pretty yellow flowers, until I used Google Lens and Wikipedia 🙀 Brugmansia, aka Angel's Trumpet #flowerreport #bloomscroll #flowers #nature #sanfrancisco #california
A picture taken from the passenger seat of a car stopped at a light in San Francisco, California. At bottom, we see a shred of road and a curb. Growing up from the dirt between the curb and the sidewalk is a smallish tree with a small, yellowish green bush next to it on our left. Behind that, we can see parts of two modest homes with small, neatly trimmed lawns and manicured shrubs. The real star of the shot is hiding at dead center in front of the pale green house on our left, obscured by aforementioned tree by the road. A quick zoom reveals gorgeous yellow Angel's Trumpet blooms. To our right of the Brugmansia plant is a walkway between the homes. The sky above is mostly a smooth light gray/white mass of clouds, with just a peek at the blue sky beyond at top left

More from my game of car photography roulette yesterday. There were so many beautiful homes on this street that I would have loved to take pictures of. Happy to have gotten this one ☺️💙 #sanfrancisco #bayarea #california #beautifulhomes #roadtrip #travelmore #travel
A 2 level home on a busy street in San Francisco. The narrow driveway leads directly to a recessed garage door at the center of the home. On the left an exterior staircase leads to the 2nd floor. There is an archway about 4 steps up, with a beautiful wrought iron security screen. The 2nd floor of the facade features a small balcony with an oblong archway lined with glass paned doors and windows. The front of the home is a pleasant yellowish cream color with a sort of rusty burgundy colored trim on the garage, balcony fence, and trim on the balcony. There is an orange traffic/safety cone between the opening that leads to the garage and the exterior staircase, and some green plants are growing in front of the house to our right of the garage recess. The blue sky above is obscured by fluffy white clouds. We can also see part of a dusty rose colored home on our right, and a dark sky blue home on our left

Played car photography roulette today as a passenger on a road trip to the Bay Area 💛 My phone camera doesn't like motion of any kind, so I could only capture scenes when stopped at a light 😂 #bayarea #sanfrancisco #roadtrip #california #travel
Snapshot of "Meeting Place of The Church in San Francisco" and surrounding trees while stopped at a red light on a road trip. I thought the shape of the facade was interesting with it's protruding 2nd floor windows, and I really loved the group of trees on the right. There is a bus stop, complete with a sheltered bench in front of the light gray building, and we can see the road between my car and sidewalk, as well as part of a narrow, plain dirt median. The back of a black SUV blocks the bottom right corner of the building. There is a tree on our left of the building, the back of another car, and a green awning on the left side of the building. Part of the interior of my car on the driver's side appears at our bottom left. The sky above the building is a lovely blue with a fluffy white cloud floating by

Lovely leaves and lily buds 💚🌿 #nature #shadow #flowerbuds #willits #california #mendocinocounty
Stalk of a lily plant with lance shaped leaves stretches out over concrete from a dirt planter corner covered with duff. Long dark pink and white buds extend from it's tip. Casting a shadow down onto the sunny part of the concrete. Shade forms a hard line between dark and light concrete, lighting a triangle of the photo from bottom right corner to middle left, leaving the lily stalk untouched by darkness

I am a sucker for a carved door. So much more interesting than plain wood or a modern glass door. A carved door beckons one inside to see what lies beyond 🖤 #willits #california #doors #mainstreet #northerncalifornia #urbex
A carved wooden door with an antique brass colored (would love to know if it is actually antique brass) door handle on our right side and a round brass colored lock below that. There are 8 decorative rectangles carved on it, in 2 columns of 4. Each rectangle contains a sort of wavy rosette design that I had trouble identifying with Google lens. The rosette is contained within a diamond, and there is a group of 4 triangles filling out each corner of the rectangle outside of the diamond. At bottom right we see what appears to be a silver colored metal slide lock, and to our left of that is a scar and holes on the door where something was previously installed. The bottom of the door is heavily scuffed, and there are chips in the thick cream/beige paint where we can see the light colored wood. On our left are two metal hinges, the top one clearly a dark bronze color, while the bottom appears to be more of a darkened silver or pewter color at the ends and a brighter, almost greenish hue that has been scuffed or marred in some way

The old Masonic temple on Main St. Two views. If only someone would purchase and restore it 🤍 #willits #architecture #urbex #roses #vintagebuildings #california #freemasonry #vacant #restoration
A view of the front of the vacant Masonic temple on Main St in Willits, CA, taken from one side. The building facade takes up most of the picture, with a glass paned window closest to is on the left, and the archway leading to the front door further away on the left. One of the panels of glass in the window has been broken. There is a prolific Rose bush out front, under the window, that is dripping with beautiful white to pale pink blossoms. On the left, we can see the sign hung by the realtor who is offering it for sale. It reads, in part FOR SALE REMAX SELZER REALTY & ASSOCIATES REMAX GOLD CLINT HANKS. The phone number is partly obscure by a rose. We catch a glimpse of blue sky above a neighboring structure at top leftSame building as other picture, but this time we view the facade from the left, standing a bit further away. A few cement stairs lead to an archway which leads to a plywood covered front door that sports a NO TRESPASSING sign. There is a silver colored metal handrail on the left side of the stairs only. The number 330 is displayed just above the door. Various plants grow in front of the building, including the rose bush that features prominently in the other picture. To our right of the door is the window from the other photo.

The stucco exterior has been textured and decorated above the archway to include straight lines radiating away from the top of the arch, a gold colored, scalloped textured decoration at center, and the words "MASONIC TEMPLE" have been carved there as well. Just above that, we see the Freemason symbol. There is a glass window centered above the archway. Above that window appear more gold colored decorative features, mainly a shield at center top. The roof slants up to a point centered above that.

There is another 2nd floor window on the right above the rose bush fronted 1st floor window. The glass on this one has been defaced by white graffiti. The branches of a tree that is a few feet taller than the building peek out along the right side and above the roof, backed by blue sky at top right

A beautiful black, maybe cast iron, outdoor wall sconce on the front of the old Masonic temple building on Main St. It looks like the glass panels were maybe glazed, and the glaze has crackled over time. The wall behind it is a light colored stucco, and you can see some of the lines and texturing that highlight the out-of-frame archway leading to the front door

I have been somewhat fascinated by the old Masonic temple that sits vacant on Main St. Wishing someone would buy and restore it. I respected the no trespassing sign, but I yearn to take a closer look at what appears to be an old well next to it 🤍 #willits #california #historic #achitecture
What appears to maybe be an old well sits at the back of an otherwise empty lot directly next to a vacant Masonic temple that we see on the left. The right side of the picture is framed by the trunk of the tree I stood under. Between the building and the well(?) is an exterior staircase to the 2nd floor of the temple. There is a dollar sign painted onto the white base of the well(?), but the side of the building seems to be mostly clear of graffiti

I believe that what's important is that we each do what we can, and spreading awareness. Too many people are ok with wearing stuff 1 or 2x 😖
