Come to Pinehurst Station opening this Wednesday & tell us what you want to see at Jackson Park! We can absolutely do better than a fenced off golf course that cuts off access to TWO light rail stations. (If you can't make it, you can always take our online survey: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1F...)
Poster of preferred "Jackson" Park uses that you will be able to add dot stickers to vote on!

Possible uses include picnic area, playground, bball court, vball court, trails, spray park, sports field, dog park, skate park, pool, outdoor stage, public restroom, and blank spaces for you to fill out!

70% of Seattle's water comes from the protected Cedar River Municipal Watershed. Rain falls onto this protected forested land and gets filtered before going into the Cedar River and being diverted to Seattle taps - resulting in some of the cleanest, most delicious water tap water in the country!

Feeling a little raw tonight after the second night in a row of mass, coordinated abductions in the south end. ICE is terrorizing my community. I am exhausted and everyone I know is exhausted and we nowhere near done fighting back. This is our city, not the fascists’.

Coho return to the Lake Washington/Lake Sammamish basin is low 🐟🐼
Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife
Sept. 15, 2026

Salmon fishing to close in Lake Washington
Action: Closes salmon fishing.

Effective dates: Sept. 16, 2026, until further notice.

Species affected: Coho salmon.

Location: Lake Washington (King County) north of Highway 520 Bridge and east of Montlake Bridge, including that portion of the Sammamish River near Kenmore from the 68th Avenue NE Bridge downstream.

Reason for action: In-season fishery data based on fish counts at the Ballard Locks indicates the coho return to the Lake Washington/Lake Sammamish basin is smaller than forecasted. This rule change is necessary to help ensure broodstock and natural spawning goals are reached.

Additional information: Preliminary salmon counts taken at the Ballard Locks during survey hours are available on WDFW’s Lake Washington salmon counts webpage.

Fishery managers encourage anglers to sign up for Fishing Rule Change email notifications and to check for emergency rules on the WDFW website before fishing. Refer to the Washington Sport Fishing Rules pamphlet for current regulations. Download the Fish Washington® mobile app to stay up to date on the go.

Information contact: North Puget Sound Region, 425-775-1311.

Salmon 🐟
Felt spawning sockeye salmon (red body, green head) with green stitching attaching body and head. Adult spawning salmon (red body, green head) with detail stitching and bead eyes. The two sides will be stitched together and stuffed. Right now they are separate and look like two salmon swimming in opposite directions.

I am a scientist – and the answer is climate change. Yes, there is nuance. Yes, it could take a long time to identify the precise mechanisms. But there is no question why ice and snow-related disasters are on the rise. Our planet is warming at an unprecedented rate, and humans are responsible.

I probably wouldn't even know about Hasan Piker except for all the attacks on him from Dems. That made me curious, so I started listening to him speak. Turns out he's telling the truth, and I think that's why people in power don't like him. Stay focused, indeed.
Linda Sarsour post from FB:

Stop falling for that Hasan Piker nonsense. Hasan Piker is just being used as a proxy for the power our pro-Palestinian movements are building. Raise your hand if you are perfect and say the right things all the time?? Yeah, that's none of us.

I won't be distracted or manipulated by a manufactured controversy about Hasan Piker like many of you were about the Women's March. Was that too long ago that you all forgot when Tamika, Carmen and I were just proxies for pro-Palestinian women of color leading a movement that was becoming more attuned with Palestinians and Palestinians rights. Who benefits when our movements are being attacked? I won't ever forget the Neera Tandens, Amy Siskinds and Shannon Watts and Debbie Wasserman Schulz of the world and I can go on and on except I would be calling folks out who are still friends with me on Facebook.

Why do people fall for this EVERY TIME? The right wing manufactures it and then the Liberals and Democrats join in!?!? I am so embarrassed for them.

Have you not learned anything????

Hasan PIker has done more for progressive politics and candidates of color than most of the people dumping on him. As the Arabs would say - KHALAS!

Stay focused.
